The National Parks: America's Best Idea Original Soundtrack

If you watched, The National Parks: America's Best Idea, you know that the music played a very important part in the film. Each time I listen to the music, I am transported back to various parts of the film, and thus, to many of the Parks I have visited. I am so grateful to live in a country that placed so much value on preserving some of the best wild places for all of us to see, and to Ken Burns for bringing so much history to life.On the other hand, I write this while a handful of our politicians have shut down our government, and all the National Parks, and I am struck by the contrast between the ones who fought to preserve them for the common benefit of all, the current ones who fight only for their own agenda's, with no thought for the common good of "we the people".

Heard snippets from this CD on a radio station and knew I had to have it. Very soothing, relaxing, and enjoyable.

I loves the music from the series and was happy to find the soundtrack.

This CD is played in most National Parks in the United States, and if you've seen the DVD (which I highly recommend), you know what a beautiful collection of American music this is. I even gave it as a present to my massage therapist, who finds it very relaxing for her clients.

I like this cd very much, the music is perfect for driving or doing house work.

I watched National Parks on my new Kindle Fire HD. I enjoyed the music so much I had to have it. I wish this was also on autorip. Autorip is a free service at Amazon. If you buy a CD it will give you a cloud copy for your Kindle, phone, tablet.

I loved the DVD series, and I loved the music so much that I bought the CD. I still love the CD, but there are a couple of songs (at least) that are on the DVD that are not on the CD? That is the only reason for 4 stars, but I am a little let down to not have all of the music.

After seeing other excellent reviews and not having heard the music before, I was a little disappointed to find it a bit 'thin'. I was expecting more orchestral renderings. Pleasant enough but I do not think most pieces convey the majesty of America's national parks.
