Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (or SLS) is a chemical ingredient used to increase lather and foam in toiletry products. An inexpensive and very effective foaming agent. Our SLS is a dry powder that is widely used in the cosmetic industry. You can add this to your bath salts, bath milk and bath bombs! To make Bubble Bath Bombs we recommend to add about 8-10% by weight to the formulation. Just blend it in well with the other dry ingredients. We do not recommend this SLS as a Melt and Pour and Cold Process soap additive. Applications This material is a versatile surfactant capable of producing a fine, creamy foam. It is also a good emulsifier and an excellent wetting agent, with good electrolyte tolerance, making it ideal for use as the primary surfactant in a range of cosmetic and detergent applications, such as shaving creams, laundry detergents and additives and toilet blocks. It also finds application as an emulsifier, wetting and foaming agent in many other diverse markets. This product is suitable for use in formulations that must comply with the European directives on Cosmetics (76/768/EC) and Detergents (648/2004/EC) and their subsequent amendments. Preservation This product does not contain a preservative as it is relatively resistant to microbial contamination. When it is diluted or incorporated into a formulation we recommend the addition of a preservative approved by the appropriate legislation. Regulatory Information CAS Number 68955 -19 -1 EC Number 273 - 257 - 1 INCI Name Sodium Lauryl Sulfate This product is considered chemically stable for at least 2 years.
