This is a very sturdy box and ideal as a fishing tackle box. Good solid plastic feels like it will last the pace. Compartments are varied in size and will accommodate everything from floats to lures to hooks and weights.Just taken delivery of it, so will update after a few outings as to how it performed. So far, very impressed and much sturdier than the one it replaced.Also, just to note, this opens 180° So both lid and base are flat on the ground which makes it very stable and little chance of it toppling over and spilling out the content.UpdateThis has now been out on several fishing trips and does it’s job excellently. On the last trip it got very mucky so we emptied it out and just hoses it down. Then dried with some paper towel and it’s back to brand new looking. Great tackle box, holds lots of kit.

This box is nice and deep, and the closing/hinge mechanism works very smoothly. The lower two trays have 4 compartments ig enough for most pens, pencils, paintbrushes etc., and the upper tray has two shorter compartments with a square one on the right. The uppermost tray has a gap between the top pf the tray and the lid, so useful for small items which are too tall for the other trays to close properly. The catch is nice and strong, as is the carrying handle. I like the fact that the lid and trays are transparent - makes it easier to see and organise things. If you put heavy items in the top tray and not in the deep base compartment it would topple over (that's just physics!), but cleverly the lid goes right back and can sit on the table behind it to provide a sturdy base and prevent this from happening if needed - a great design. Have had it a few weeks and with regular use no sign of any problems. All in all, very happy with this product.

This is an absolutely brilliant sewing box. I was a little stuck between the traditional fabric ones and this one but I'm so glad I went for this. It has lots of room and is really good if you want to be really organised. A lot of the reviews have said that it topples- this only happens if you don't have enough to put in the bottom compartment. If you fill the bottom up or put something heavy in it, it will definitely not topple (as you can see in my pictures). Not sure why people said they couldn't put threads in the trays because mine fit fone and i have no trouble at all closing the box. It feels strong and sturdy but I've only had it a week. I would definitely recommend and would buy again for presents. It would also be good for makeup or other crafts.

Box arrived very fast.It is made of plastic so that it is not heavy. The handle is a decent size to fit your knuckles and when flat is inset so it allows the box to have things standing on the top of it. The lid is more flexible than the base and is also translucent so if you had more than one of these boxes you could identify it's contents by the items you have in the top layer.The handle and the cantilever bars are reliant on their plastic protruberances into the body of the box or the layers - there is no metal. The cantilever bars should be ok if you don't put very heavy gear in the three layers unless the box gets a knock while it is open - closed they should be ok. The box's fastener and it's long hinge have small amounts of metal in their construction.The carrying ability of the handle depends on the handles ends - plastic which slot into the lid. Personally I won't be putting a lot of heavy things in the box because of this.The top layer has three slot shaped spaces and at the right hand side a rectangular shaped space. The other two layers are identical to each other. Four rectangular shapes with short ends to the front. The three dividers in these two layers do not fit tight in their holders, in fact when I was changing items around in them not once but twice I managed to pull a divider out with my stuff. I plan to use a strip of clear sellotape along each to stop this happening.In this world you get what you pay for. This box is not up to being tossed around in luggage compartments. It's lid sits on a lip on the edge of the base so I doubt it would be rain proof ( I'm thinking of anglers here ). Great for an indoor store box for fisherman though.As a tool box for a workman or repairman I don't feel it would stand up to being hauled here and there in and out of a car boot or a van or in the workplace on an every day basis.Mine now contains plastic tools with metal hooks in the top slots. Lots of small plastic bags with colourful "rubber" bands in them and in the base plastic looms with bits and pieces of plastic extensions and such like for "rainbow band looming". None of these items really have much weight. The spaces in the layers are quite shallow so the bands will remain the their plastic bags.To use the box properly while you work it needs to be opened fully so that the lid becomes level with the base unless you have really heavy stuff in the bottom to keep it weighed down when you just want stuff out of the lower two layers.When fully open the box will make a footprint twice its base size so if you are going to work with this box open next to you having a dining chair or similar longside you while you are sitting will accommodate the open box wonderfully.If you plan to stand the box on your work table or desk while you sit you'll find you will have to keep standing up to get access to things in the base of the box. The box will need to be lower than your desk table work height so you can dip in it whilst working.For a person who just wants something to put the average home's sewing items in it would be ok but a sewer or craft person with a collection of heavy work items would need something more substantially built.OK for lego but do sellotape those dividers to the floors of the layers.Hope this helps

Wasn’t big enough for what mum needed it for in the end but all in all great product

before this box, I had the problem of having to carry 4-5 different boxes of tools to college every day - as a textile student, the amount of materials I need to have to hand daily is ridiculous. So to solve this problem, I decided to buy this box.I managed to fit everything in it - everything I needed daily, and then some! The compartments could be made bigger with ease due to removable dividers, so there’s no problem when it comes to big scissors, or paintbrushes!This box has been under heavy use over the past month and it shows very little sign of wear. Brilliant quality, opening mechanism still works smoothly and strongly, the box is basically bulletproof, worth it’s weight in gold. Would recommend this to ANYONE in a heartbeat.

Read all reviews and eventually decided on this sewing box, but was still unsure if my niece would like it as it looks very like a tool box. My niece absolutely loved it though and filled it with sewing reels and other items immediately. What was really good about this box was the way it opens up flat rather than resting all of weight on the hinges. The various hinged shelves are a good size and depth - ideal for sewing items. My niece was also pleased with the size, it apparently is just the right size to fit under her sewing table and the fact it has a flat top so she can place light items on top without them sliding off is an added bonus.

Buscaba un costurero donde pudiera guardar todo el material de costura que utilizo y dejar de tenerlo todo desperdigado en diferentes cajas. Esta caja como costurero es perfecta, cabe todo y es robusta. La calidad precio es muy buena. Los separadores de las bandejas inferiores se pueden quitar para dejar más espacio. En cambio me hubiera gustado que las de la bandeja superior también se pudieran quitar para dejar el separador largo más ancho y poder poner las tijeras arriba. En todo caso estoy muy contenta con la compra.

It was stronger than I thought and is brilliant for sorting sewing essentials. When fully open it supports itself well. If you want to partly open it will tilt back. Very happy overall.
