Makes great ice cream
This ice cream maker is similar to the old wooden ones I remember as a kid, but it is much easier to use. The maker is very sturdy and well designed. It seems like it will last for years. We used it several times this summer and the results were all good.

Is it worth it?
Good question. $400 is bit much but if you are looking for something that can make really good homemade ice cream with that great taste that brings back great memories I'd say go for it if you want it that bad. Price point is high but I'd definitely say the quality is there and built to last. Even if something were to break they give you a manual with all the parts labeled and easy to order online if need be. I did a lot of researching online to try to find a good quality ice cream maker hand crank and this is what it ended up coming to. Very good product, bit pricey. Not big on plastic coming into contact with my food, did ask the question before buying if the plastic scrapers shed any and everyone said no but on the edges of the scrapers did look a bit frayed for being new but I suppose thats probably just the way they come out from being made but I do doubt much will shed into the ice cream if any. Transparent top for the metal canister is very handy.

Best ice cream maker out there!
Researched a LOT of ice cream makers looking for a traditional ice & salt maker like the ones I used as a kid. Most places just don't make them like they used to. The ones with the motors all seem to burn out quickly, and many of the lower end brands that can be found out there just don't have the quality and durability I was looking for. Opted for this one even though it was more than I was originally hoping to spend. After seeing it and trying it out, I have zero regrets. This thing is built like a tank...all heavy, stainless steel parts and a sturdy bucket. I expect this ice cream maker to outlive me. It will definitely be the last one I ever need to buy. Tried the Immergood family favorite vanilla recipe in the booklet that it comes with, and the whole family loved it. The kids are new to homemade ice cream and said it was the best ice cream they've ever tasted (this is saying something considering we live in the land of Blue Bell ice cream). The crank and gears all ran incredibly smoothly, and it only took 15 minutes to crank out a perfect batch of ice cream. This thing is a joy to use! Excited to try many more recipes.

Best Ice Cream Maker - Ever!!
Excellent quality, industrial style, made in the U.S.A. If a part should need replacing, my wife is confident that this machine is so simple that she can handle any repairs. However, the quality is so superior, I doubt that she will have the opportunity. My wife and I are in our mid 70s and we purchased the hand crank so that we could take the ice cream maker on picnics. It is not hard to crank. Makes ice cream quickly - 20 minutes or less and your ice cream is done. Five years ago our true and trusted ice cream maker developed a rip in the bucket, couldn't find a replacement. We went through several styles of makers, all inferior quality that did not make decent ice cream. Then we found Immergood. We are so pleased. replacement parts are available if needed. Comes with a recipe booklet and instructions.

Quality Product
After many years of using a wooden-bucket, hand crank ice cream maker; this 6 qt Immergood was a joy to use. Made two different batches with the grandkids last night....each took a turn churning (of course I took the first turn to "show them how it was done" and let them from youngest to oldest turn the crank until the cream mixture changed to Magic ! Everyone enjoyed the experience of making (and Eating) the ice cream. This is a well built product, especially the stainless steel components and the leak-proof bucket. With the insulated cover on the bucket we still had ice at noon the following day. As a bonus we were able to make ice cream in the house instead of 95º F. out on the patio.I was a little hesitant to make this purchase, due to the price, but I would do it again based on the quality.

Best hand crank ice cream freezer
I'm the fourth generation in my family to hand crank ice cream, my son is fifth and grandson the sixth. I've owned at least 4 hand cranks two were White Mountain. I needed a new hand crank and after reviewing hand cranks settled on the Immergood. Stainless steel crank operation, insulated synthetic bucket, sliding lock to prevent crank from jumping and see through lid make It a dream machine. Last batch of ice cream was ready in under 20 minutes.I'm buying one for my son's Christmas present.

High quality, 6qt Immergood has many parts that will interchange with 6qt White Mountain
Well pleased with materiel selection, fit and finish. The clear lid will be a favorite with the kids.My old (1985 probably) White Mountain 6 qt ice cream can assembly (can, dasher, scraper) will fit very well into the Immergood. The three drives that I have (Immergood hand crank, White Mountain Handcrank, White mountain electric) will all fit and work with either the Immergood can assembly or the White Mountain can assembly in the high quality triple layer insulated Immergood bucket. If you start mixing the can internal parts up between the two manufacturers, you MAY find some issues - have to do a little hand fitting or adjusting. My White Mountain bucket is on its last legs. I had to spray the bottom with flex seal (yep that worked well) to seal off rotten wood from where the screws were inserted for the can rotating to make the last batch. While I will try to fix the WM bucket assembly to make it last a few more years, I can no longer trust it.I feel that the IMMERGOOD 6 quart maker will last much longer than the White Mountain - while I hate to gripe about the WM lasting 'only' 37 years, with a bit more care in materiel selection it would have lasted twice that long. This care was taken by Immergood.I would just make sure to store the Immergood clear top and bucket out of sunlight or bright fluorescent lights - I am not sure it would cause damage, but I would play it safe.I did pay the $50 for the insulated top for use after freezing while hardening the cream.
