Excellent Book Both For Beginners and Advanced Nederlands Speakers.
This book of Dutch verbs is an excellent resource for all non-native Ducth speakers. It contains all versions of the most commonly encountered Dutch verbs, both regular and irregular the various tenses are clearly and comprehensibly presented, and there are a few grammar tips included in the book. I have been a non-native Dutch speaker for 35 years, and I still have occasional need for this little book. If you are just beginning to study the language, you will not want to be without this. Along with a good Nederlands dictionary, and a thorough grammar book, this collection of verbs will take you far. This is the newest revision, and offers considerable updates from my last version of the same title. Another book that you will need is: "Het Groene Boekje" ( The Little Green Book ). That book shows the correct article and the plural version of the various Dutch nouns, as well as the correct and official latest spellings, and the new Dutch words that have been officially added to the Dutch language. Highly recommended for all Dutch speakers.

Incredibly helpful for a beginner
After reading the reviews I felt this book was a good investment and compliment to the Rosetta Stone courses I am working through. Indeed this book has been extremely helpful to me and I have referenced this book every day while going through my online courses. It really helps to see the verbs conjugated on paper as a quick reference. So far I've only used it for the saying simple present tense sentences but I look forward to using and learning more about all the other tenses. Also, I found the front part of the book where it explains more about the essentials of grammar extremely helpful. It has been a very long time since I remember learning what the difference tenses mean and I think after this I will have learned quite a bit about the English language as well. If you're serious about learning Dutch (not just as a traveling tourist) I would consider this a 'must have' book to invest in.

Excellent and helpful book
Like all of the --1 verb books, this one is excellent too. Most come in 501, and I wish there was a 501 Dutch verbs book too, but I couldn't find it. This one certainly contains all the important verbs, as well as concise and very clear explanations concerning the grammatical aspects of Dutch verbs. A must if you study Dutch, and easy to supplement with on-line help, (like Verbix, for example).

Small and possibly outdated...
I realize the title says only 201 Dutch verbs, but this book is tiny and is lacking in other aspects compared to the 501 German Verbs book. The German book has lots of charts and appendices with all sorts of explanations related to verbs. I figured that 201 Dutch Verbs might have similar features, but it does not. I have yet to extensively use the book, so I am wondering if the verbs contained in the book will all be useful. However, on a positive note, it takes up much less space than 501 German Verbs and I find the size of it adorable, which is fitting because I find the Dutch language adorable compared to German in general. I am extremely glad to see that the conjugations include the question form for the second person informal singular (i.e. "kun je"). Its not entirely this book's fault that it pales in comparison to 501 German Verbs. Interest in Dutch is not that big. Plus, the German book is on its third edition and this book is sadly still on its first (from 1979). This is a little worrisome considering the spelling changes Dutch has undergone since, but so far I haven't run into any trouble. Cross your fingers that the publisher realizes that a second edition is long overdue. (Or even better that they upgrade it from 201 to 501 Dutch verbs!)

Helpful aid to a student of Dutch
Lke virtually all the books in this series (201 .[insert name of language] Verbs, fully conjugated in all the tenses), this book is very helpful and compact. The verbs chosen are the ones most used in the language. Mr. Stern added hundreds of other verbs for which less information is presented, which means that readers get more than the title promised them. Altogether, a very worthwhile piece of work.

I just wish the publishers had taken the extra step to align the verbs with the outer edges of the pages. Flipping through to find a specific verb on the left hand pages means still looking towards the spine of the book for the infinitive.

A great reference book and one that should go on the shelf of any person studying the dutch language. The entire series is very useful and I have the 501 verb guides for Hebrew and Spanish and all of them get frequent use.

Sets the standard for this type of book
I bought a used copy of the book from Amazon. The copy I received was in good condition and I have no complaints on that score.Prior to ordering a used copy from Amazon I attempted to purchase a new copy, or else the larger volume 501 Dutch Verbs from the same publisher. The 201 version appears to be out of print, and the 501 version may possibly be as well. This is the third reference book on Dutch verbs I have ordered from Amazon. The other two take different approaches to the subject. I consider one of these to be very poor, and the other clearly not as good as 201 Dutch Verbs. The book starts off with a discussion/explanation in English of spelling and pronounciation, personal pronouns, strong and weak verbs, and of course verb conjugations and how they are used. This is dry material, but useful. The bulk of the book consists of the 201 verbs, fully conjugated. There is one verb per page, sorted alphabetically. While about 80% of each page is the indicative active conjugations, there is information for the passive forms at the bottom of the page.Starting on page 237 there is a glossary of 1500 verbs, with less information about each than the preceeding full conjugations. Finally, at the back of the book starting on page 307, there is a listing of the 201 verbs, this time with the English verbs sorted alphabetically and the corresponding Dutch verbs beside them. This enables the user to find the desired verb without resorting to a dictionary.Overall, the book is well presented and complete. It is a valuable tool for anyone who is serious about speaking Dutch. My only complaint is the small format of the book, and the publisher and perhaps some users may consider this an advantage. There is a lot of information on each page, with the result that a small font is used. I would have liked something larger simply because it is easier to read. That is probably the case with the 501 Dutch Verbs from the same publisher, if a copy can be obtained.

Un manuale utile per l'apprendimento
E' un volume di non grandissime dimensioni, molto utile a chi vuole studiare seriamente l'olandese, in una delle sue parti più importante, quali i verbi. Il libro è chiaro e permette una buona fruizione di tutti gli aspetti.E' utile agli studiosi ed agli appassionati.

It Does What it Sets Out to Do and then Some.
This is a very useful reference. Understanding of verbs and how they are conjugated is fundamental in learning a language. This book lays out the information very clearly along with an exhaustive list of these verbs and their derivative verbs in the back part of the book (e.g. halen, herhalen).Verbs lead to their past participles, adjectives, adverbs and noun spin-offs, so it's an important window to understanding any languages I have ever studied.

201 Dutch verbs
It is difficult for a beginner to get an irregular verb correct for tense, number and person. This book solves the problem with a full presentation of 201 Dutch verbs in all possible forms. All irregular verbs are covered. Additional verbs are covered at the end of the book in an abbreviated format. If you want to learn Dutch, this is a valuable aid.
