Well documented and well written book about US intervention since WWII
This book is a must-read for anyone interested in US military and CIA interventions throughout the world since WWII. The discussion of US interventions appalled and disgusted me. Interference in elections, military support for overthrowing democratically elected governments, and training in torture techniques are all part of the US playbook. After reading this well-documented and well researched book, I will never again been naive about the nature of US involvement in the world. There has been no case since WWII where a country has been better off because of US involvement, even when the purported reason has been stated as humanitarian (NOT) and to promote democracy (NOT). The chapters are short but rich with detail. Ample footnotes are provided so that you can "fact-check" the author. What I disliked about the book is that I can no longer have any illusions about the motives of our government when intervening in other countries. I also found the small print size difficult to read---would have preferred a longer book with larger print.

This will make you very angry - Read it!
A fantastic, engrossing piece of work.I had to put it down after almost every chapter as it made me so angry and depressed. Blum has accumulated a wealth of evidence that gives substance to so many things I have believed for quite some time and brings into question so many things we take for granted in our view of the World.

Provides context for the current Russia-Ukraine conflict
Traces the global manipulations precipitated by the "home of the free". Provides context and insight for further studies of the current Russia-Ukraine conflict. Should be required reading in this so indoctrinated nation...
