I purchased this for a large, high wall near my living area. I wanted something to fill the space and yet be functional. This clock fits the bill in ALL ways. It arrived at my doorstep very quickly and was packaged well for such a large item. It goes together extremely easily, yet once it's together you would never know it comes in two pieces. The clock is very stylish, well-made, and keeps excellent time. Just keep in mind, it is just over 4 feet in diameter, perfect for large walls but might be too overbearing in smaller areas. I would highly recommend this piece, I love it.

I was hesitant to buy this clock due to some negative reviews on other web sights: Issues with damaged packing, custom service, assembly, broken hands, keeping time, etc. I bought it from Amazon knowing any of the above issues would be handled positively. Fortunately I did not experienced any of those problems. The clock is beautiful, very stylish and rich looking . Assembly, no problem with an extra pair of hands. I was worried about bending the fragile hands so we did not take the packaging off of them until the clock was on the wall to stay. So far keeping perfect time! If you like this clock buy it! Worth the money!!

This clock is so beautiful. It does get a little behind and I have to catch it up. Is big and people always notice it and we get so many complements on how nice it is.Update 2018-I changed my review because this clock stopped keeping time and the hands broke a while ago I just haven’t gotten to write the review till now. It is beautiful and it looks beautiful but it does not work. My friend had me help her get the same clock because she loved mine and hers isn’t working either. For how expensive this clock is they should not break so easy mine is hanging high so nothing touches it yet it still broke. My next step is to contact Howard Miller and see if I can order the parts to fix it. A local store sells a cheap version of this clock and if I had known it wasn’t going to last and I was going to just have it as an art piece I would’ve bought that one instead. Too bad because is beautiful

The first clock I ordered was defective as the two halves would not connect with one another. The second/replacement clock I ordered had a defective quartz movement and the hands wouldn't turn. I could hear it tick (yes, I installed a new battery) but that was all it would do. The good news is...the returns were free. I will now purchase this same clock from a reputable clock dealer who will ensure it functions properly. It is a beautiful clock but I don't want to keep ordering.

Overall I like the look of the clock. Looks nice for a large space over the fireplace. The hands are 'delicate' - be careful. I was worried about noise, but its quiet. I am disappointed that a clock that cost $300 has a hanger on the back that is slightly off center..hence why I only gave this 3 stars. I expected more from a name brand - Howard Miller. Didn't notice this until we had already went through the process to get it up there. We used a 50 lb picture hanger which works fine. Did not want to go through the hassle of returning such a big piece for a replacement- had it been a local vendor vs. Amazon, I would have exchanged it.

The theory of “pay more - get more” did not occur with the purchase of this wall clock. The clock requires some assembly as it is delivered in two pieces. The items were very difficult to assemble. The slip fit joins were very tight and were quite difficult to align to get a proper fit. With some patience and force one can over come the design limitations. The clock frame requires 5 screws to be installed to kept the two separate pieces together. Unfortunately, only 4 of the holes were properly tapped with threads. One hole was not tapped. Perhaps I should have opted for a $90 wall clock in lieu of $359 wall clock.

We were looking for a large wall clock above our fireplace & came across this Howard Miller. We actually first saw it hanging in an open house.The clock arrives in two pieces, but it's easy to put together. After assembly, you'd never guess that it came in two pieces.This clock is made of high quality materials & has an elegant look. It keeps great time & you obviously have no trouble seeing it from anywhere in the room.If you're looking for a large wall clock (48"), it's hard to go wrong with this one.

This is the third clock that my wife has ordered in this design (different makers) but the ONLY one that worked. On the others, the hands would drag and get hung up and I even tried bending them but still no luck. My fear was that this was just a faulty design, but on this model the minute and hour hands are spaced a good distance apart so that they don't get caught. It's a little heavier than I thought it would be (based on the other designs) but it's seems very well made. Overall, awesome design and a great clock. Would definitely recommend.
