Brand new to sewing, great thread
I am BRAND NEW to sewing (i just received my brand new machine sunday also from amazon) and i could not for the life of me understand which thread to get. i was exhausted from researching... brand, quality, size, length, etc... my one friend said always stick to polyester thread from walmart, while my mother in law said never use polyester and to stick with high end cotton thread. i had to try it for myself and my gut said to try guterman cotton thread (after seeing it here on amazon) and im so glad i did. as a first time sewer, i made my son a pillow with some hobby lobby fabric and this bark brown cotton thread and i could immediately feel and see a difference in my machine. im used to using cheap walmart thread to sew patches, but this guterman thread is awesome. ive already ordered 3 more spools in different colors just to be sure i have high quality thread on hand. i wound 4 bobbins with guterman thread and then one bobbin with coats and clark thread and i could see right away that the guterman thread was much better quality. i probably wont use any other brand now that ive tried guterman right out the gates.

100% cotton thread
I was making the fabric bowls that can be used in the microwave as Christmas presents. I made a total of 22. I needed 100% cotton thread to go with the 100% cotton batting and material. This is a good quality thread and worked wonderfully. I have used my bowl in the microwave without problems.

First Timer
I got a Singer 4423 Heavy Duty machine for Christmas and spent hours researching thread. I finally went with this one to begin my first project of making our daughter a t-shirt quilt. Learned how to make a bobbin, thread the needle, and assemble the top of my quilt all with Gutermann thread and I LOVE it! Not a single hitch. I started out using the needle that came in the machine, but had to switch to a heavy duty needle because the fusing I used was extremely thick. After making a practice quilt sandwich, I used this thread to practice everything from straight stitching the pieces together, stitching in the ditch, and straight line quilting. Since I do not have a freestyle quilt foot (yet), I invented my own freestyle quilting using the foot the machine came with by just freestyling forward, reverse, and even large curves. The thread is perfect- no lint, no breaks, looks pretty, and held up to washing & drying the practice square. My freestyle foot will be delivered by Amazon today & I'll get to try that out after I sew the large quilt sandwich together. For first-timers- enjoy the process of your new machine and project. Set little goals. Be patient and stick with Gutermann thread!

Fake, cheap, thin,
I never waste my time writing reviews but this thread is Garbage, It’s probably a knock off, my sewing machine won’t even accept it to wind a bobbin😡 I grew up using this brand of thread and the stuff I got today was so thin and cheap

Very Good Quality Product
I'm been using this 100% Cotton Thread for approximately 9 years in my sewing machine without any problems. It doesn't leave a lot of lint. The spools are larger than a regular size spool, so they last a long time.

The best so far in my experience!
First time user of Gutterman thread, and big difference indeed. My sewing machine, which is a old, like 20 years old singer, was throwing a fit and I was almost devistated that my beloved singer was dying, however recovered when I bought and used Gutterman thread, and I had two different threads in feeding the machine and I guess that's a no-no because my singers tension was all wacked out, well I noticed that the alignment seems better and she sees faster and less lint, jams or breaks. Very pleased, it says it was made in Greece. Top quality so for to m knowledge, many threads I have not tried other than economy brands, give it a try and you'll see the difference. Did buy again and do recommend.

Very high quality thread.
Very high quality thread. I liked that the end of the thread was kept under the bottom circle instead of with a little notch, which kept it from getting snagged. I used this thread in my Brother sewing machine with no issues and I also used it for hand sewing. Bright blue color that was accurate on my monitor. Recommend.

Excellent for Quilting
I use this thread for quilting and this summer I finished a 93 inch by 123 inch quilt that I pieced and quilted completely by hand. One spool of this thread did the entire quilt and I had some left over. I love it. I bought my first spool locally at Hancock's but after they closed, I looked for it on Amazon and found it. Thank you, Amazon.

Not sure this is genuine Gutermann
Haven’t used this thread yet. It looks ok but I am sure it’s not genuine Gutermann. Odd sticker on spool and no sticker on the bottom. Says “Made in China” Gutermann threads are made in Germany! The dots above the U on the printing are not there. Just didn’t look genuine. Fingers crossed the thread is ok

Not sellers fault review is poor.
I usually love Guttermann thread but this time was disappointed. Reel arrived quickly and looked normal. However once I started to use it, I discovered the underlays were dirty and yellowed. This is no reflection on the seller as they would also have also purchased the thread in good faith. Very disappointing as having to cut the dirty bits off to be able to use it on white material.

Fake Cotton Thread ???
This product is extremely poor quality and certainly does not live up to the standard of other Gutermann Thread bought from suppliers known to me. The thread makes tight ringlets that bunch under the sewing machines foot and even the reel is a poor imitation

Good quality
This is a good quality thread and by a brand I have been using ever since I first started to sew at a young age. The thread is strong, albeit you can break it using your hands most of the time, subject to having the knack of doing so. It doesn’t normally break when going through the machine, not unless you have the tension wrong when it will probably result in the needle breaking as well.I found colour matching with my fabric a little tricky. My fabric is towards the gold spectrum, but a metallic thread would be all wrong. I took a punt on cream and it is a close enough match, but I would normally suggest checking in a store as it was hit and miss given screen brightness.

Made in Greece! Rubbish thread which keeps snapping.
Like other buyers, I find that this thread keeps snapping on my machine. It’s got a Made In Greece sticker on it and IM not sure that this is genuine Guterman thread, as it seems more like tacking thread. Very poor quality. I’ve wasted a valuable week of sewing PPE messing around trying to isolate the “problem” on my machine when in fact the thread is the issue. My other threads work fine! Getting a refund. Very annoyed about this.
