As an addition to our range of ornaments we offer either 500 grams or 1500 grams minimum weight of finest quality natural slate pieces to furnish your aquarium or vivarium. They will be similar to the stones shown in the example pictures which are 500 grams. Three sizes to choose from, generally the stone size will be as follows... Medium. Pictures 2 and 3. Between 3cm and 6cm lengths. Thickness between 1mm and 5mm. Small. Pictures 4 and 5. Between 2cm and 4cm lengths. Thickness between 1mm and 5mm. XSmall. Pictures 6 and 7. Between 1cm and 3cm lengths. Thickness between 1mm and 5mm. Smoothed, washed and sterilised to safely introduce into your pets environment. Great for covering the floor of your pets home or stacking to design your own aquascape or landscape. 500 grams is about enough to cover the floor of the tank shown which measures 30cm by 17cm. If you choose 1500 grams you get 3 times the amount shown in the pictures. This is the finest Welsh slate direct from the quarry, it is not reclaimed so there is no chance of unwanted residue from previous use which could be harmful to aquatic life. Why Choose Slate To achieve a natural looking habitat slate is an ideal material to use. The lovely texture, grain and shapes are eye catching, however the subtle shades of grey are neutral so will not clash with other colours. Many other types of rocks and wood can appear messy when put together. Natural slate not only looks great but highlights and enhances the colours of the animals and plants it is placed with.
