I originally bought this blanket for my son who suffers from severe anxiety, but I think I may have to keep it for myself! After opening up the blanket, which comes in a reusable zipper storage bag and was packaged very compact, I was impressed by the quality. No loose threads and very soft. I bought the 17 pound blanket and it felt heavier than I thought it would. My husband instantly wanted to try it out. He’s 6’2” and it is big enough to cover him completely. He loved it. I then tried it and it felt as if I was snuggled tightly into bed even though it wasn’t really tucked in. My children loved it too. My 6 year old used it the first night we got it and it put her instantly to sleep. The next morning I asked her how it was and she said it felt like she was in a bath and slept great. This blanket is AMAZING. I was a little skeptical about these weighted blankets but decided to give it a shot because of some recent bouts of anxiety and insomnia, and really, who doesn't want some better quality naps? Was not disappointed! I am about 165lbs so I ordered the 17lb blanket and it feels like a giant soft hug when I sleep under it. I was out light a light in 5mins the first time I tried it out. My friends are making more frequent visits to my house so they can steal this blanket for some time, so it's enriching my life in many ways.The heat / warmth level is surprisingly great given the weight, definitely doesn't bake you like I imagined it might. I live in California, have a memory foam mattress (retains heat a bit more) and like to sleep cooler, so I don't imagine this will replace my normal cotton blanket / duvet combo because it is a bit warmer than I would like for a lot of the year. But it's now my new go to napping blanket and for those nights where my anxiety or sleeplessness will call for it.The material feels cozy and the stitching / quality is really good. The filling isn't noisy and my cats have no issues sleeping on it. It does seem to pick up lint / pet hair easily though so I would highly recommend ordering a cover that is easier to wash and keep clean.

After having this blanket for a couple weeks I am finding sand like material all over my bed ever day coming from my blanket. I must say, for the cost.... I am now very disappointed!!!

After lots of comparison this was the best value I could find. You get a neutral color, a good weight, a large size, easy wash/care (with no cover needed) all for the lowest price. I bought this blanket to assist with anxiety when sleeping. I find that it does help me to fall asleep faster. However, I do not find that it helps to keep me asleep. I still wake often and toss/turn. I still love the feel of the weight on me. And much to my surprise - the blanket does NOT make me hot at all. That was my biggest concern, and it is a nonissue for me. I give it a 4 because it's not a cure all for me - but I still enjoy the product.

Bought this blanket for my wife to help her get more sleep through out the night and it seems to help her. On another note, my wife is always cold and usually has about five blankets on the bed. She has now informed me that this is the warmest blanket she has ever used. So now we don’t need as many blankets on the bed. Yay!

Whereas the blanket doesn’t help me fall asleep, it does help keep me asleep or when I wake up in the middle of the night, I’m able to fall back to sleep almost immediately. I’m a severe insomniac. I’m One step away from the Michael Jackson school of sleep. I’ve tried everything and take hardcore prescriptions to help me sleep. I didn’t think there was anyway this would work but at this point I will try anything in hopes to get off my sleep medication. Best thing I’ve tried by far. Thinking of getting the 20 pounder to see if that could help me actually fall asleep. Highly recommend.

I bought this because my partner and I have difficulty sleeping (his attributed to a life of shift work; mine anxiety related). We've tried PM products, sleep aids, chamomile tea... warm milk, but nothing with lasting success. I've read reviews that weighted blankets are great for insomnia, so I thought, "Why not?"Blanket: Great quality (I don't see any snags in the sewing); just wish it was a bit bigger. Yes, it says 60x80 in the description, so while you can put it on a queen-size bed, like on top of the comforter, it's better fit for a twin/daybed sleeper. It certainly won't have room to hang off the sides of our mattress as I had hoped. I'd have to put it on the bed longways in order to really snuggle into it, but that would mean my partner isn't able to enjoy it - so I suck it up and share. Last night was our first with it and I can say that while I did get up in the middle in the night, it was less frequent than usual. On the nights when I get the bed to myself, I'm sure I'll sleep like a baby. :)

I bought this blanket because as much as I enjoyed sleeping with 4 & 5 blankets, I hated having to take them all off and then replace them when I changed the sheets. I love the weight on me and it's also very warm. At least for me it is. It's so nice just to need my flannel sheets, this blanket & my top spread. The one thing you have to know, is that it probably feels better on top of another blanket rather than just a sheet because you feel the individual squares of pellets and it feels abit unnerving. I can't comment on how well it launders yet. As far as being an anxiety tamer, it doesn't work for me in that way. I still lie awake if I'm having anxious thoughts - only I have more weight on me while I'm tossing & turning. Even though I bought one, I think the price is waaay too much for what you get. $50 would be more reasonable. Hopefully this blanket will last a long time for what I paid for.
