This beginner sewing set for kids is quite cute, though I will stress that I t’s a very beginner set and probably too babyish for older kids. What a great gift for my 6 year old! She's shown an interest in sewing, especially since she's ripped some of her shirts. I wanted to start with something easy and fun! Packaging is nice. I think she will love it!

I love having a 5-year-old, and I love keeping surprise crafts on hand for her. This one is very usable, but it does require adult involvement at age 5, firstly to teach how to sew, but secondly because the directions are very lacking and minimal. I think it's an okay value for the money. It would be right on value-wise if it came with good directions. As it is, we are enjoying this together. It's quite fun and effectively teaches beginning sewing principles. As an added bonus, the finished projects can be given as gifts, or we will likely share one with a friend, who can then take her finished project home with her. How fun for two littles to sew side by side.
