For the price, this is a surprisingly good cutter. Works will with a mini mill.

I had to make a finish cut on a vblock for class today to improve my perpendicularity one one side. I decided to use my new face mill instead of one of the school ones. It did a great job with a beautiful finish shine!

Does really well, with no complaints or issues so far. I've ran .15" on steel at 15 ipm and it performed really well.

Good news is the correct inserts were shipped and fit great. The head itself is super nice, seems very high quality. Also fit on the spindle perfectly.Bad news, the drawbar threads in the R8 spindle are drilled off center. The drawbar catches about 2 threads then locks up solidly. The drawbar is perfect and I use it all the time on everything. Only conclusion is they were drilled off-center.As usuall Amazon is most excellant and sending me another in exchange. Will update the results. Fingers crossed as I really want this to work.

Bought this to square up a 2x3x4 block of steel, surface finish was full of waves on .002 finish cut. was pretty sure not all inserts were cutting . And yes i double checked that my mill head and vice were nicely trammed in. first test was gently setting cutter head with the inserts face down on my surface plate. did the rocking test, Y axis felt pretty good, X axis was not good at all. put it back in the mill and did the scratch test on a nice piece of machined brass. first insert to scratch i set Z axis at 0 2nd insert to touch was at .0005 third insert was at .0025 fourth insert was at .0035, also when i attached the head to the R8 it would only go on one way because the keys and key ways are not machined exactly 0 degrees to 180 degrees to each other. There were a lot of good reviews for this product so my be the one i got was while the machine operator and quality control were on lunch break. Will not buy another one, But i will machine again with good old carbide fly cutter.

Received this today and tried it out on some steel. I’m using a Chinese round column mill and the results are beyond belief.

discovered that my mill head is around .001" tilted to one side..I didn't measure I just finished the milling operation feeding the same direction I dont enjoy "mill climb" anyway. One of these days I need to start utilizing that rare device called a camera.
