Distressed cow aviator for a vintage yet modern look

Very cool for the $
I am somewhat of a self-proclaimed jacket and boot aficionado... I have A LOT of leather jackets ranging from Belstaffs, Barbours, Hugo Bosses, Schotts, etc...you name it. I don't say this with the intention or goal of gloating, only merely as a receipt of knowing what I'm talking about. So, usually a classic styled A-2 type jacket, one would probably gravitate towards a Schott, Togs, or even an authentic P. Goldsmith if you could get your hands on one of the Originals. However, one probably wouldn't want to wear a Togs or P.Goldsmith as they are highly collectible and fragile. This Boston Harbour is by no means a close replication of the WW II pieces; however, given the price of approximately $200, it's worth a closer look. I initially ordered a size medium given my chest size is around 40 and I'm 6'2, but, this size was baggy and didn't render the look I was going for. Although this jacket is classically cut to have a roomier fit, I was going for a tighter fit. So, I returned it for a size Small, which is why I chose the "fits larger than expected" selection on this review. This jacket arrives slightly stiff, as a good leather jacket should; however, be mindful that it shouldn't look ridiculously tight or make you look like you're Chris Farley rocking the "fat man in a little coat" appearance. The jacket DOES NOT arrive with the exact same appearance as the photo; however, with my suggested modification, it looks better than the photo. First, make sure it is at least 90% to your liking regarding fit and appearance. If it passes this test, and your significant other strongly approves, proceed to my suggested next step, which is what I did, which significantly improved the appearance and fit. Pick up some mink oil paste. This will add a vintaged patina appearance and a little extra flexibility to the leather for a slightly more customized fit. Evenly apply a very conservative layer of the paste to the entire leather portion of the jacket and then proceed to massage into the leather until it gives only a very slight matte shine. After this, put on the jacket, zip it up and either give yourself or your willing dedicated significant other a bunch of hugs. Yes, my sleeves are a bit short, but for a couple hundred dollars, this jacket is really f'n cool and looks better than many of the $500+ jackets that take years to break-in and achieve the same look. And Yes, there is a little Boston Harbour insignia on the upper sleeve, but it doesn't stand out in a tacky or uncool way. The liner is a lightly insulated cotton material that stretches fairly easily and hasn't ripped despite my stretching venture.Best of luck and I hope this helps and serves as a helpful guide!

Wonderful jacket
Ordered both a small and medium. Fits completely true to size, ended up sending the small back. Very great fit and quality.
