I have been using 1000 series shaver for years. Realising I needed an upgrade on my older moder I went for this. I had tried Remington and the Chinese brand Enchen and a few others as spares but they proved to be rubbish. Anyways I went for this Philips as my old model had served me well. Ive only had it a few days bit I can say its performed extremely well. It shaves close and leaves a smooth finish. For the price its excellent value for money. The only downside is the USB charger cable maximum 5V 1A so be very careful. In this day and age who has this type of usb input. 15V-65V would be an average for most charging plugs. Can it damage the shaver getting it wrong well take a read online. Luckily I recalled having a single socket in the house with the necessary 5V connection. So annoying . My old Philips shaver simply plugged into the shaving socket in the bathroom. Oh as for instructions virtually zilch. From Philips website i Input voltage: 100–240 V. Output voltage: 5 V. Power output: 1 A or higher. However the above apart its an excellent shaver. Dont forget to register for the 3 year warranty.

Quality shaver at economical price

Love this. Saves so much time in the mornings and when travelling. USB charger is a bonus. The shave cut is remarkably clean.

Over many years I have bought a series of electric shavers. I began with a Philips triple head like this one, but mains operated and quite a bit heavier. Then I switched to foil shavers, mostly from Braun. I was looking to replace my current one and noticed that that brand has become more and more expensive for what ultimately is the same device. So I looked around and found this Philips one at a much smaller price. At first sight it seemed very lightweight and in running it was high-pitched, and I thought it might be too feeble to be any good. However after a few uses I realised it was easily as effective as the foil shaver, and for about a quarter of the price. I really like the way the heads can rock to fit facial contours, and the cut is very effective, although I'd say it takes about 30% longer to do. The head of the unit comes completely apart for cleaning. In fact, if you're not careful a fairly light knock once the top is unlatched will result in a complete disassembly of the head. It can be a bit fiddly to reassemble but in fact this is the best way to completely clean it, which you only need to do from time to time. The battery life is good on a full charge, which is reached in about an hour, although if you're in a hurry, 10 minutes of charging is plenty for a single use. It comes with a special charging lead that fits any charger with a USB-A socket. I am very happy with this purchase.

A excellent shaver, shaves closely an great battery life

I’ve waited to do a long term review of this razor. In fact I wish I hadn’t bothered. It works, but takes a long time to get a decent shave. It doesn’t seem to be cutting well even on the smoother parts of my face. It looks good and hold charge well, but generally a bit of a let down compared to my last one.

Works amazing, never worried about it cutting or pulling on my face. Only complaint is the cable isn't a standard cable.
