Astro Pneumatic Tool 7582 Automotive Tap & Die Set - Metric

Like a lot of people, I had a cheap tap set that was just a PITA. The chuck would loosen and the tap would fall out or the handle would loosen from the chuck and it would fall out. This tool ratchets and reverses just by flicking one of the handles. It has two handles so you can get both hands into the job. It holds the bit in place very well and is a pleasure to use. It comes with a nice case. I don't think you can go wrong with this set.

Broke the first time used.There are 2 hex head tap drivers included. The smaller one broke the jaw the first time i used it. I always was very happy with aatro tools until this one. Now i am doubting the quality of the others i purchased when im in a pinch.

This is a nice set of Taps & Dies but the Dies & Taps do not match up such as M12x1.50 Die but no Tap to match.

I searched at 5 stores locally for a metric set. Finally gave up and ordered on Amazon. I had it the next day. Fantastic set. Especially the ratchet Ted reversible handle. Very well made. Highly recommend! Looking into what else this company makes.

Since I purchased this...I never knew how much I needed this.Instead of buying new nuts and bolts I was able to rethread some that were beginning to cross thread or strip.The Ratcheting feature is Top Notch. I tried the other style ones before and quit using them.I just wish they had the smaller sizes that went with this.

This tap and die set is the best. It has common size taps and dies on what you find in most cars. Other brands don't have the size you need on like the m12x1.25. and they also have too many pieces that the car would never use. It is well made, except for the screwdriver it came with. That looked cheaply made. Other than that, it's good.

On the first use, one of the chucks broke. On the second use, the M5 tap snapped when cutting a thread in 6000-series aluminum. The handle is awesome. The quality of everything else is surprisingly poor for an Astro tool. My harbor freight taps are better made!

This is a great kit. Oversized handles, padded grips, ratchet. and super case. Keeps everything tight and in place.
