Great idea, not only for the trail, but also for the pasture. My black Canadian is a bit hard to find in an unlit pasture at night. I turn him out after riding at night and he immediately goes to the most distant, darkest, part of the pasture to graze. Even with my head lamp I had trouble sorting him out when it was time to come in. Now with his blue tail he’s much easier to find. He didn’t have any issues with the tail light once he decided he couldn’t eat it. The wrap seems to attach well if you take the time to do it correctly. First time I didn’t have it tight enough and it slid down his tail, which was not well received. I haven’t tried to run the full 5 hours on the light yet, but I really like that the battery is integrated into the tail wrap so no separate cable to a power pack. The light is bright even indoors. The plastic strands do straighten out over time. The photo is from the end of day one and it hadn’t fully unkinked yet. So overall two hoofs up.

The first time I used this the lights would go off after 5 - 10 minutes so I had to keep turning them back on. The second time I used it only one of the five strings of light would light up, but it stayed on. I don't know if it was just bad luck or bad quality.

I love these lights for night rides, they definitely catch the eye and my horse doesn’t seem to mind them either. You can’t put a price on safety so the $$ didn’t bother me much either.

It is very well made I love the fact that you can recharge can’t wait to use it on a trail ride!!
