Underrated "panda" and amazing value
If you search reviews of watches, the Seiko Speedmaster solar panda gets all kinds of hype since its release a couple of years ago. This watch beats it on many important specs and yet costs half as much (or even less). Things I like that the more expensive Seiko lacks: -Sapphire crystal (not mineral crystal) -200m water resistance (not 100m) -beveled finishing around the sub-dials (a glint of shiny metal rather than a straight cut through the dial -lumed markers at all hours (Seiko had only 4, though a later version added more) The one thing that Seiko definitely did better is the bracelet, but neither bracelet is very good. These watches are more comfortable and look great with a good rubber or other strap, so I had no problem just dropping this bracelet in the bin. The watch looks great. It's almost impossible to capture the sunburst effect on the dial with a photo, but you can see it in person for sure--a matter of taste whether that's a good thing. The lume is fantastic. If my room is dark, I can read this watch all night long. I also get a lot of compliments when I first walk into a room from being outside, as the lume is noticeable even in a lit space. It seems to catch the eye of bartenders for just this reason. LOL My only beefs: The hands are easy to read when I have my glasses on, but in low light if I'm not wearing readers, sometimes it's hard to read because the white-lumed hands blur into the dial too much for me. In the dark or wearing glasses this is not an issue. Similarly, the hands on the sub dials could use a little more contrast as well. They can be hard to see in low light. Otherwise, this watch is not getting nearly the attention it deserves. Solar quartz movement is super reliable and accurate--so far I can't find any deviation since I first got it a few weeks ago and I LOVE not having to replace a batter any time in the next...oh...10 to 20 years or more?

Incredible Value
An excellent automatic chrono on a budget. This watch is truly a looker. The fluted bezel is beautiful and the dial is truly a stunner. The bracelet has good clasp action and is soft. Unlike other cheaper watches I have, the bracelet doesn't stick or poke and is pleasant to wear. The solar movement is going strong and is serving me well. The bezel action isn't the best, as there is little feedback and it has gotten pretty sticky over the past year. At its price point, you CANNOT go wrong with this piece. I will certainly look to buy another Orient in the future!

10 outta 10 affordable watch. Better than my Citizen diver.
I am wearing this watch right now and after having it a few months, I can honestly say it is one of the best watches I own. The automatic movement is wonderful. I've gone 3-4 days without wearing it and it held time flawlessly. I have Seikos and Citizens that cannot do that. WONDERFUL watch that I highly recommend. My only real complaint is the date is a little small. I can read it, but it is definitely small. In low light it is almost impossible to see.

Excellent for the price
I wore this watch to a local restaurant the first week I received it and the young waitress remarked how much she liked it. Since I'm probably 45 years older than her, this is certainly not an old man's watch. I own a lot of watches, many very valuable, I'm very happy this one is stylish as well as Solar so I don't have to worry about winding/setting or changing batteries and it didn't cost me thousands.

Great starter watch for watch collecting
This watch is great, I would give it 5 stars if not for the calendar dial is a little small, sometimes hard to see. But if you don't mind the date as much then you are good. The build quality is really nice, for a "budget" watch this feels more expensive than it should be. The watch dial looks sophisticated and the chronograph works well. Highly recommended for anyone that is just starting out the watch collecting.

Orient is making noise.
The case material is solid and the chronograph does not disappoint. Though the thickness is a bit much, its look, design and the panda qualities very much made up for it. Very easy to wear and very comfortable for its size.

Works great
Nice watch - keeps good time and never needs batteries as it's solar powered.

This watch cannot be missed
A good looking watch, has Seiko internals. I expect it to last decades, like my other sun powered watches.
