Great Brace!
I've been using this brace for six months with no issues. I have ALS and have some mild drop in both feet. But with the ALS I don't lift my legs very high when walking so these braces really help from dragging my toes on trip hazards. I've had zero problems with the ratchet, cable, hook or velcro. They are very comfortable even with no socks on. I do recommend un-lacing your shoestrings then tying a knot behind the first set of eyelets to minimize the stretch of the shoestring.

Four Review - Design seriously flawed could cause injury
Adjustable tension works well. Great feature to be able to adjust the tension quickly and easily. Nice to be able to relax tension while sitting then tighten for walking. The adjusting wheel broke the third time I used it. Just don't know how sturdy it is. May try it again. Fairly easy to put on.Did not buy it for pain relief so can't rate it.Second review: The flaw in the design is that the tensioning device hooks onto the shoe lace. After extended or active use the tension lessens because any slack in the lacing is gradually taken up by the tensioning device. The result is the tension holding the toe of the shoe up lessens and the fit of the shoe tightens across the top of the shoe. The more tension put on the lace the tighter the shoe gets. The above problem can be eliminated by using a piece of coat hanger wire about 2-1/2" long. Insert the wire thru the two eyelets of the first row of lacing. Bend the ends of the wire 180 degrees so the wire can't fall out. Now attach the adjusting device to the wire rather than the lacing. Works well.Second review: the plastic wire on the ratchet broke. The brace is now useless.Third Review: I take a diuretic to reduce fluid retention especially in my legs. I have noticed that after extended use e.g. al day, the fluid build up and swelling in my leg increases significantly. I think it is because of the strap that wraps around the ankle to hold the device in place. It only happens on the leg with the brace.I now remove the brace whenever I am not actively walking. This seems to have lessened the fluid build up in the leg. This design is better than other designs because it is the easiest to remove, reapply. and readjust the tension. Unfortunately, the velcro is substandard and doesn't hold wellFinal ReviewI've used four of these braces within the last 2 years. All have failed. Two failed when the adjusting string broke. One failed when the adjusting racket wheel broke and one when the velcro no longer worked.I consider this design seriously flawed possibly dangerous. The adjusting string failures occurred randomly. I never used the brace for strenuous activity. If failure was to occur when the user was in a precarious position the user could easily fall and be seriously injured.IMO this brace should not be marketed.

Foot drop brace
This is a great product with an amazing design. It’s easy to use, comfortable and It does exactly what it’s meant to do BUT the tension cable is not very strong I’ve had to return THREE braces due to the cable snapping/breaking. I’m currently on my fourth brace and the cable has snap on it also but I can’t return it due to the fact it snap/broke after the return window close. Overall I like the product but it will be much better with a stronger cable and some type of ventilation to help with sweat which I didn’t mention.

Good stand in for AFO
For an off shelf foot drop brace, this worked fairly well. You must have shoe laces that begin further toward the toes for maximum efficiency. It works well while I wait for my patients to get their molded AFOs.

Does not support
The cable is very weak and does not hold up to Pressure at all. I just can’t wear it. It does not work. I should have returned it, but my order window closed too soon. I would not recommend this product to anybody any time.
