Sisters of Gold (Birmingham Jewellery Quarter 1)

I cannot praise this book highly enough. It was a really good read and the characters felt so real and as I read found I could not put it down as I wanted to know the end. The description of the jewellery quarter in Birmingham interested me a lot as I lived in Handsworth in the 50s and remember when it was revamped to the businesses having open fronts like shops showing their jewellery and then it became a tourist attraction as it is today I felt it would be good if there was another book to follow the lives of the sisters.

This novel is beautifully written, and enthralling.The research undertaken by the author into the jewellery business at the time of the turn of the nineteenth to the twentieth century gives a depth to the storylineThe pace of the events have you not wanting to put the book down as you need to know the outcome of each.A book that I found to have every element needed - a thoroughly good and engrossing read, which I highly recommend to lovers of historical sagas. This is one of the best I have ever read.

This book rates more than five stars. I loved it from the first page to the last. Even learning new things to make. The girls are delightful and the story takes you in and has you sitting on the edge of your chair. A must read.Thank you Annie Murray xx

It took longer than normal to get into this story, which is unusual for Annie Murray

Have read all this author’s books and this had a weak storyline line that was not that believable. Well researched though on the jewellery trade in Birmingham. The Jewellery Quarter Museum is well worth a visit and helped me understand the setting.

Birmingham 1904. Sisters Margaret and Annie flee their fathers home after an almighty scandal to go and stay with aunt hatt and uncle eb both are hiding a pass so they both start looking for work. Loved this book. Very enjoyable with lots of twists and turns along the way.

Another great book by this author , loved getting to know the characters and although the book went back to what had happened then back to the present time in the book it doesn't distract you, would really recommend it .

Another excellent and intriguing story. I was in amongst the characters in my head through the whole book. Thankyou Annie for giving us yet another brilliant story. Can't wait for the next one!!!
