Challenging, but very rewarding
I thought that after building the Concorde last year, this would be an easier kit because it had fewer parts and a smaller box. I was so wrong! This one has very intricate mechanics that are incredibly detailed and complex. Let me start with the good things: The instructions are extremely clear and easy to follow. The mechanics are truly impressive. Everything fits perfectly and works well. This includes the landing gear, the wings, and the cabin. The model is quite sturdy. You can hold it, and the pieces won't be falling off every minute. It can be a real conversation piece, especially when you retract and extend the wings and show the flapping mechanism. The action figures are a nice touch. I like that you get one action figure per stage. This is a lovely way to provide you with a little token to encourage you to persevere through the construction. Now for the challenges: I am not writing this to discourage anyone from purchasing and building this kit, but I am providing this advice, especially if this is your first or umpteenth LEGO Technic model: 1) Make sure that you have a wide area, free from clutter, to place the parts as you empty each bag. I use a baking tray. 2) It helps to read a few steps ahead in the instruction manual, so that you can see exactly how the parts function. 3) There is a lot of repetition, especially in the wing mechanism, so be prepared to do certain steps 8 times. 4) The movement of the wing area seems quite limited in the beginning. But don't worry. Everything works perfectly fine when all the parts have been put together. Ultimately, this kit is well designed and offers a rewarding experience! Another mechanical masterpiece from the Lego Icons series.

Super fun Lego set for Dune fans
AWESOME SET!!! I love Dune so I had to pick this up when it was on sale. The build was super fun if you like technic which makes it fun for any kid or adult with a love of mechanics. Could be a perfect gift since there was nothing missing and a good value price per piece.

Beautiful.
An amazing set with great design accuracy to the Dune movie. Really challenging to put together but also incredibly satisfying. Ends up really big about a 2 ft long and is a perfect gift for anyone that loves Dune and lego.

Awesome set
The wings sag a little, with that being said; I have owned over 100 Lego sets in my life and this is one of the most fun builds I have ever had the please of enjoying. It’s even better looking in person, feels sturdier than most other sets I have and the functionality of the wings and landing gear. I am so happy I purchased this set, if you love Dune and Lego then I highly recommend snatching one of these up before they retire it. 5 stars, would purchase again and I honestly might haha

DUNE. Probably the only Dune set they’ll make.
It’s a great build, complicated and very heavy on Technic while having a lot of non-Technic lego build to it as well. Lots of minifigures which is great, but unfortunately means that they probably won’t be doing any more Dune sets. Especially as this one has been out a while now, Dune 2 was released a long time ago, and that’s that. I would totally get more Dune sets if they existed. There are nitpicks, the set is large and heavy, so it can be difficult to get the wings working just right. There is some repetition to the build for the wings but it’s not a large part of the build so it’s okay. It is a unique set and I’m super happy to have it in my collection. Also, since it’s a “nerd” set, there are lots of mods online for this one. For example, you could build it using alternative parts to better conceal some of the technic fasteners. I didn’t bother but this is further evidence that this set is one of the great sets!!

A must have for every Dune fan
I absolutely love this model, i have been always a fan of Lego and Dune so i might come a little bit biased, however, i love the model, i love the minifigures, i love how sharp everything moves, although some of the technic aspect of the model you can see, it hasnt bothered me, i love how pristine the cockpit looks and is an amazing place to display your minifigures, also, this model is huge, im 6ft tall and this is about 80% of the size of my whole arm, the wings also look pristine and when the whole model is deployed i think its when its the most gorgeous, i am currently displaying it on a counter and i absolutely love every aspect of it, this is a good win for the Lego team, thank you for giving Dune fans this model 10/10 this was the mot complex model i have built, but it was worth it. took me about 4 hours (literally watched Dune twice while building it) Recomendations: If you are a Dune fan, this is a must have Watch Dune while building it Take ur time, this is a complex model and if u mess up, ur gonna have to rebuild some aspects of it If you are a Lego fan but not a Dune fan

Great replica of the ornithopter.
This is an awesome Lego set for Dune fans. It's an amazing replica of the Royal Ornithopter as seen in the Dune movies and this lego set does it justice. It does have a lot of Lego Technic parts to it, but I think that just makes it that much better. It's really a matter of taste and opinion.

A big and impressive Dune Ornithopter- and it's a Lego kit!
So cool. Large and detailed; pretty good match to the appearance of the original. However, the wing-flappy-mechanism is not great; had to do a little dis-assembly to correct operator errors during assembly. Good "swoop-ability"- it didn't fall apart, so there's that. The figures are really fun; Baron Harkonnen is hilarious.

Excellent - incredibly fun to build.

Es una gran experiencia el armarlo y la mecánica para poner las alas en posición y el abatir de las mismas es increíble así como la mecánica para el tren de aterrizaje, si eres fan de este gran épico cinematográfico debes tenerlo en tu colección.

This is an incredible build. It’s amazing how they fit the mechanism to fold and flap the wings, the landing gear and the back ramp inside of the small body. It also just looks fantastic; even better than in the product images. Having all of the first film’s characters in mini figures is pretty cool too. Here’s hoping they do more Dune vehicles, like the Spice Harvester, or the ominous Harkonnen ship from the start of Part 2.
