Love this scent
I've been searching for this smell/scent for ages now. Used to love when you go into a club and after when you leave the club, you have the scent of smoke and perfume on you shirt. This has that exact smell of a cigar scent. Makes you smell like you been smoking cigars without actually having to smoke.

Warm, sweet, and sophisticated. Uncanny, yet relaxing.
I purchased Al Basel on a whim when I chanced across it at clearance prices. I'd never even heard of Swiss Arabian before, but I was looking for an oriental themed fragrance to wear during mild weather months. Al Basel is interesting for sure. It begins acidic and herbal, with spicy woods drenched in citrus zest, yet finishes sweet and floral with enough leathery spice to offer fragrant harmony. I would say that Al Basel is certainly a masculine-leaning perfume, though I would not find it offensive at all on a woman beyond the first 15 minutes. For the first 15 minutes or so it expresses almost entirely sage and sweet lemons. Warm cinnamon and honeyed candy undertones pervade, but the whole experience quickly becomes frankincense. The next hour or so has that persistent, uncanny frankincense vibe, which is not necessarily a bad thing; it is just mysteriously reminiscent for me. As it dries down, the frankincense takes a back seat, and new layers of patchouli, amber, and sweet, leathery wood come to the forefront for hours. In critique, I will say, that there is something distinctly "artificial" about it at times. Furthermore, after roughly 5 hours, the complexity subsides into a sweet, powdery, fresh amber with patchouli undertones, but really nothing else remains. Re-application helps to balance the lingering fragrance, but be warned, it lasts seemingly forever, and it may be offensive to some. It certainly took me a few days to acclimate. The fragrance is relatively long-lived, with the body of the fragrance lasting for 4-6 hours, and a persistent freshness for 8-10. Projection begins strong enough to fill a medium sized room, yet subsides to a more reasonable, personal level. The initial scent is robust distinct, and STRONG, so reapply it sparingly when around others. I have worn Al-Basel at work and have received positive feedback, though as one of my co-workers has stated: it smells lovely and fresh, but foreign.Al Basel is certainly nothing I'd wear everyday, nor is it something I'd shy away from. I think it's perfect for nights out, or as a strictly outdoor perfume. I've attempted to wear it as a daily fragrance, and I simply prefer modern, western blends when in close contact with people I know.

Great Spring and Summer fragrance!
One if my new favorite fragrances for Spring and Summer. I do not care for the typical designer "blue" scent profiles so I have been searching for a good alternative. Al Basel is amazingly good. Just the right mix of summer fresh, green and hint of sweet. Will happily wear this for all occasions and not blend in with the crowd.

Masculine and sophisticated
Reminiscent of “Angel” by Thierry Mugler. Warm and spicy. Designer fragrance quality. A true EDP strength.

Not for me
This fragrance is not for me. Don't like the way it smells at all.

Good value!
The scent is very good and it does last a long time. I really don't understand the negative reviews. I felt it was a good value and a good product.
