Accessible, insightful and essential
Like a lot of people I have been playing with Chat GPT for a year or so now since its release. The author does a brilliant job of making the subject accessible for novices but delivers clever tips and suggestions for more confident users.Simple prompts, using characters, chain of thought and even including copilot- there is a lot covered in a relatively short book. There is a whole section on security and the book is peppered throughout with sensible tips on the risks and challenges of LLMs, making it useful not just for individuals but a handy guide for people in business looking to develop their skills with generative AI in the workplace.I read this book via my BCS Library Subscription. It’s not too long but the ideas and tips mean I’ll be revisiting it again soon.

Perfect simple primer
Mark Pesce wrote a simple primer last year for ChatGPT and AI chatbots. It’s very useful for those who need to get their head around the concept and can’t cope with breathy YouTube videos, and/or don’t feel empowered to use the toolbox without some words of wisdom about security and privacy.Sparse and elegant, it’s the perfect little book covering OpenAI ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Google Bard. I’ve successfully leant it out to a couple of colleagues who were having doubts and are now getting in the fray.
