As I hoped, this took the back ache out of ironing for me because I could sit comfortably at my ordinary dining table. I always have it covered in a "leatherette" cloth under an ordinary cotton table cloth. My table is painted wood and suffered no harm The ironing blanket is a good size and thickness and actually produced better results than my normal ironing board. I will be trying to do all my ironing like this. I have arthritis in my back and hips and always sit at my ironing board as I can't stand for long. Nevertheless, I've always had to stop after half an hour with back ache. So I'm very pleased to have got this better alternative now.

This was a great disappointment. I have always ironed on a table top.( my mother did too.). My previous mat which I had for years was way better. Cant remember where I bought it. This one is soooo flimsy and has no backing. So the steam from the iron goes right through to the table. It is soaking after I have ironed. Thank goodness I did not use it on my oak table!! it would have been ruined! Then I have to put the mat to dry!! Useless product. Waste of money.

Everyone should have one of these. They’re great for travelling and amazing to get the iron into all the nooks and crannies.

It's great as you can see through to the fabric underneath unlike a normal pressing cloth. My iron suffers from a limescale problem and this mesh captured the limescale and saved the clothes from stains.
