This watch is way better than it has any right to be for the price. Sea-gull isn't making much, if any, profit selling these at the price I paid. Obviously, it is a loss leader to generate interest. The dial on this watch is exquisite, and I actually mean that. I don't even know what you would have to pay to get a watch with a better dial. Some of the details are so fine, you need a magnifying glass to fully appreciate them. I've looked and I can't see any QC shortcuts, except for maybe the strap. But something has to give at this price. The case is nicely polished. The dial is so good it is almost unbelievable. The blued hands look great. I've gone back and forth on how much I like the cutout to view the workings of the escapement, but in real life, it is actually very interesting and I'm glad the watch has it. I assumed one of the tradeoffs for the price would be accuracy. I was pleasantly surprised here as well. The watch is accurate to within 10 seconds per day. That's as good as any other entry level automatic movement, and better than most. I have a Swiss made movement that has better accuracy, but that watch sells for four times what this one costs. Sea-gull is not some made up Chinese import brand. They have been in the business for 70 years and they make more mechanical watch movements than any other manufacturer in the world. This is a real watch from a real watch making company. What's the downside? As an American buying a direct-to-consumer watch from a Chinese brand, finding somebody who can work on it when the time comes might be challenging. Challenging, but not impossible. And, as with any other entry level watch, the decision to eventually have the watch serviced or to just buy a new one has to be considered.

I purchased this watch because I was drawn to its open-heart design and the inclusion of a power reserve indicator, a feature not commonly found at this price point. The power reserve is both functional and convenient, allowing me to easily track how much winding the watch needs. For the price, the watch offers excellent value, including a sapphire crystal and a well-crafted dial that looks premium. When I received it, I was impressed by how well it wears on the wrist and the number of compliments it garnered. The included strap is of high quality, adding to the overall positive impression. However, the date indicator is a bit difficult to read due to its small size and awkward placement. Despite this minor drawback, I highly recommend this watch for everyday use and even for more formal occasions. It combines style, functionality, and great features at an affordable price point, making it a solid choice for anyone looking for a versatile timepiece.

Arrived in a decent box. Pretty nice dial with a high degree of finish both on the dial and movement, and a nice blue flash off the dark blue hands. Function seems perfect so far. Biggest drawbacks are the strap, which feels and smells more like plastic than leather, and the plastic movement surround can be seen when viewing the watch from an angle through the back glass.

The materials are amazing, the detail on the dial looks so premium. And overall a good quality watch with a great look!

Nice build quality.. looks and feels like I expected on the arm.. the housing is just a little thicker than other watches in a similar category.. I don't own a lot of brands, but for comparison the watch body is probably 1.5mm thicker than my Tissots.. doesn't seem like much (and I definitely still like the watch) but you do notice it when wearing with long sleeves. That's basically the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Bought on July 17 2024, and it stopped working right after it left the warranty period. Always took it off before showering or swimming, and never dropped it or anything. Looks like the spring inside the flywheel of the movement broke.

The watch was just delivered today so I am not sure about how it lasts over time, but my initial reaction is...WOW! Very nice for the price! I do have a 1963 Seagull but that is only a couple weeks old. But dang, Seagull is putting out a very nice product for a very reasonable price!! If they last and are accurate over the long haul they will be selling me a couple more watches!!! I just looked at it again....double wow!

Beautiful looking watch. I have another Sea-Gull watch which runs perfectly so I don't doubt that this will. I Like the power reserve dial. A snip at £118.00 and delivered free the following day !
