Vektra Electric Vacuum Kettle, 1.5 Litre, 1800 Watt, Purple

Bit heavy to use and disadvantage you can't see the water level. My kettle stopped working after only 3.5 months of buying. The kettle has electricity supply as light is on, but it won't heat the water. I have contacted Vektra to get a replacement as the time for return to the Amazon store I bought it from has passed. Despite a quick initial response, they are now no longer answering my emails. I wish now I had gone for the Eco Kettle again as it lasted me many years.

I liked when it worked but then it intermittently failed to boil when the button was pressed. I first thought I hadn't pressed the switch but then it became obvious there was a problem until it completely failed to work just past the 6 month stage. I contacted the seller and they told me incorrectly that the Sales of Goods Act was no longer applicable past 6 months. I contacted the manufacturer who was initially helpful but they then took almost three months to send the replacemen,t and only then under legal threat. Diabolical.

I guess that I could live with it being much much heavier than I had expected, and I guess that I could live with the fact that it pours so slowly which is a pain, but what I can't live with is that it stopped working in just 3 months and it is one hell of a job to try and work out how it can be returned for repair or replacement. Good old Argos in the hight street certainly has its benefits!

Does what it says it does. Boils fast enough and keeps water hot for a couple hours. A little heavier than a normal kettle and does boil a little slower them fast boil ones, but makes up for it in less noise and less electric usage.

Great kettle

We had the 1.7L version of this model. Great idea. Had to return first one after about a year (didn't buy from Amazon but Vectra gave two-year guarantee) for a replacement due to a fault, possibly related to closing the lid, which meant couldn't turn it on. On the replacement experienced exactly the same fault after only couple of months. What a pain. Got refund and bought £20 kettle to make a cuppa! Great shame.
