Love the California Bun! It was super easy to use ( instructions included were very clear, I even got it the first time!!) and held very secure in my hair throughout the whole day. I was able to wear it with my hair wet or dry which eliminates the need to blow dry my hair in the morning if I am pressed for time and just want to do a quick updo that still looks classy!! I tried it on my daughters hair (she's 10 yrs old and is mixed so its super curly) and surprisingly it worked really well!!! All the girls in her class complimented her and told her she looked like a ballerina :-) It stayed secure in her hair all day as well and she is very active!! Definitely will buy more as they are great gifts for friends and relatives!!

If you have a lot of hair, it may not work for you.
The little gadget could not accommodate my thick hair. I'm bummed....I was really hoping for an easy alternative to elastic bands.

This bun maker seriously makes the nicest bun I've ever had. Plus, no tangles! One tip I would say (for a sleek professional bun) is to make sure that you sandwich the tool around your hair to start a little bit further than the MIDWAY point of your ponytail. (This way, when you start to roll your hair, it will ensure than your ends get rolled up as well and therefore remain hidden within the bun.) Once you have it you'll know what I mean. Also, it helps to give the whole bun a little squeeze at the end to make it nice and extra secure! Either way, that thing is not going anywhere. The illustrations on the instructions are super easy to follow so after trying it once you'll definitely get the hang of it! Love this thing!

Not expensive but waste of $$$
I cannot get this to work to save my life! I wear my hair up all the time and this is the MOST awkward contraption. Maybe it works when your doing someone else's bun...but to do your own...Not so much. Not expensive but waste of $$$. Bummed.

Holds up to a 6-year-old
I got this for my 6-year-old daughter because she kept saying she wants her hair in a bun. She's worn it to school several days, and she gets home with it still in her hair and holding it where it's supposed to be. She loves how it looks, it's very easy to do on her, and it holds up to a full day of first grade. I would definitely recommend this!

This product works very well for me. My hair is about 1-2 inches past my shoulders. It took a few practice tries to get the hang of it, but it’s worth it. I am a pediatric nurse, and this keeps my hair in place all day.

Easier than sponge
We purchased the “blonde” bun maker. We have only used it once, but it worked great! Having two strips connected to wrap hair around is so much easier than using a bun sponge. Definitely recommend this product.
