So delicious!
I think I ate this entire cake in 2 days. I don't like very sweet, sugary confections, but I do like fruitcake. This is much denser than your average fruitcake and doesn't have the enormous nuts. I prefer this as I am not so much into the large pieces of pecan one finds in some fruitcake. This loaf has more of the taste of dates. It's so warm and pleasant. That said, I don't know that many Americans would go for this, what with the lack of intense sugariness. If you have been to a British wedding and eaten the fruitcake that is customarily served, you will probably like this. Also it's wonderful that it's gluten-free. I wasn't in enormous gut pain after eating this, which was a great relief! Keep it up, Date Lady!

Delicious and Gluten Free!
The shipping was very fast, which I appreciated. Ive never really been a fan of Fruitcake, however, this is actually pretty good.

Splend… perfection … dark and wonderful
If you’re a fan of dense, dark, rich fruitcakes, this is for you. If you like something that’s light and fluffy and full of red and green candied fruit then this is not your fruitcake.I’ve been a big fan of the dark rich fruit cake from the Gourmet cookbook. Then I found out I had to go gluten-free. What to do? Start all over and learn a recipe and test? No.This fruitcake did not disappoint. I scoured the photos and read the descriptions very carefully. That’s why I picked this one.I simply cannot tell that this is made with gluten-free ingredients. For me, it’s almost 99% identical to what I’ve made in the past except it’s gluten-free!I’ve been cutting and enjoying tiny pieces perhaps 40 g every other day. Having it with tea and honey. It’s splendid.I took a few pieces and have wrapped them in cloth and poured some rum over top to let it soak just for a treat in a week. That’s how my grandmother did it!This is delicious and I’m glad I found this company. I was so overwhelmed with joy - yes, I love fruitcake - I wrote to the company and got the nicest email back.Love it.

Underbaked. Raw dough.
So underbaked that cutting into the loaf squeezed it back into dough, ie it did not retain a baked structure (ie crumb). The British Baking Show would call it “stodgy”. I had to bake it further. The taste was one dimensional— date — instead of the usual spices that define a fruit cake. A small scent of cinnamon but no clove, cardamom, anise, etc. This should be marketed as a cinnamon date loaf made under the brand called Date Lady, rather than a fruitcake. It is not the taste or texture that it advertises.

Delicious and gluten-free! (but too sweet for me)
I love this fruitcake, but I just won't be able to eat very much of it given the high sugar content. It's not sugar added directly as sucrose (table sugar). It's sugar that's added via date sugar and date syrup. At 34g of sugar per serving, it's really too much for me. I don't think this product even needs this much sugar to be good. I think it would be better with less sugar, and I'd personally like to see if the Date Lady can come up with a low-sugar fruitcake product. I wonder what it would be like if the date sugar and date syrup were left out of the product?I suppose that the Date Lady would balk at putting Sucralose powder in a fruitcake, but that might result in a fruitcake at half (or less) the sugar content. However, it's really delicious and the ingredient quality is fantastic. I must eat gluten free at this point, and this is one of the very few gluten free fruitcakes on the market. I will be able to enjoy this once a year around the holidays.

More Date Cake than Fruit Cake
Tasty. What my mother would called a Date Nut cake. Adding a few other seasonal fruits does not make it a Fruit Cake when the majority of the fruit in it is still dates. I love dates; I enjoyed it. But, it is not a Fruitcake for Christmas Season.

Phenomenal
Spicy. Rich. Sweet. Best fruitcake I've ever had in my life. Ordering more to share with family.
