This pen is for Civil War buffs and gun lovers. The wooden barrel is a beautiful African Mahogany. The metal parts have a satin finish. It comes with a small pamphlet that fully describes the clip, cap, and tip and the Model 1861 Springfield Rifle, the 58 Caliber Minie Ball, and the 1860 Colt Army Revolver. THE CLIP: The clip is very detailed. It is a Model 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket. Very snazzy. It was a muzzle loader known for accuracy and reliability. It fired a 58-caliber Minie' Ball (like the one on the cap of the pen). It was used by both sides in the Civil War. THE CAP: The cap of the pen is a replica of the 58 Caliber Minie' Ball used by the Model 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket. The one on the cap is the actual size used. The Minie Ball is named after its French inventor, but it was widely used in America. THE TIP: The tip of this pen is a replica of a 44 caliber 1860 Colt Army Revolver Bullet. It is the actual size of the real bullet. The 1860 Colt Army Revolver was a six-shot weapon with paper cartridges that were glued to the ball. The ink is black. It takes standard Parker style refill. This is a twist pen. You hold the barrel and twist the cap to expose or retract the pen tip. To replace a spent ink tube, hold on to the barrel and pull off the cap. Then unscrew the inner barrel to remove the pen tube and insert a replacement. A free gift box is included at no extra charge.
