It's pretty tough
I had an older but high quality Yamaha digital piano before this, The One's piano sound is definitely a huge upgrade. I like the keys too, they feel like a quality piano. I barely notice that they are not graduated as you go up the scale. It's also tough. But definitely buy new, it's getting hard to trust the packaging on used items lately.I bought a used model in 'Very Good' condition and it arrived poorly packaged (By Amazon) with an entire corner caved in from a hard impact. They didn't put any shipping protection on one side of the box, just bare cardboard and the piano. The piano worked perfectly though despite a 4" hole in the side and a lot of bangs along the way. All functions good.

Download and check out the companion app before buying this product!
I really like the concept of this keyboard and got sold on the idea of a "better way" to learn the piano. However, the execution is flawed. The summary for my review is: the hardware design is fantastic, the sound is good, the software of the companion app is very limiting and the "easy piano" concept is not achieved because of that. More detail follows.HARDWARE & SOUND:Just look at it, it is a beautifully designed piece of hardware. Do know that it does not come with the stand from the picture and that if you end up pairing it with one of those with the shape of an "X" it will not look nearly as nice. The keys are nicely weighted and the touch does resemble that of a real piano. I did notice, however; that unlike a real piano, the weighting of the keys does not change from one side of the keyboard to the other (although this is just a minor detail).I also LOVE that they have headphone jacks at the front of the piano. It makes it much easier to practice without annoying my neighbors. It produces a nice imitation of the sound of piano. The rest of the instruments are not as good, but at least it is good to know that they got the basics right. In addition, the beautiful minimalist design means that this keyboard does not have a screen and thus changing instruments is much more complicated than it should be.Now, what really annoys me about this setup is that I have an iPad connected to this piano. Was it too much effort to allow me to change the instruments in there? I believe this to be such an obvious design idea that I just blindly assumed it would be implemented and was thoroughly disappointed when I downloaded the app. And I have much more complaints about the app... as can be seen in the next sectionSOFTWARE:Now, if you really want to use the special "colored lights" in this thing then you have to use their app. I really suggest you download it and have a look before you invest in this keyboard. There is sheet music for plenty of songs but you have to pay for all the good ones (4 dollars a piece I think). More so, this library will probably not contain all the songs you want to play and, even worse, you have to pay for the arrangement without being able to at least hear how it sounds which will inevitably lead to a few disappointments followed by the download of a different app.I personally used it for one song.... and then moved out of the app and into much more complete piano learning apps like Yousician.Do know, however that the lights do work with the Synthesia app which I suggest you look up if you are interested in alternative methods to learn how to play the piano.CONCEPT:I do believe that the concept is useful, specially for absolute beginners. It is much easier to learn how to play a song when you don't have to struggle learning how to read sheet music. I also believe that it will allow beginner and intermediate players to memorize and play relatively complex songs at a much faster pace. I am, however; not so sure that this is the correct approach for people that are serious about piano playing. Reading sheet music is a pain... but it is necessary if you ever want to be able to play "on the first try" or if you want to have a repertoire of songs that is larger than the space in your memory...I wish the software was better or, at least, that there was a better integration with other piano-learning and sheet-music apps so that we could use their music libraries. Without it, you'll just end up paying extra for a feature that you'd never get to use because your favorite apps don't support it.

Great for beginners
Nice onboard sound.Bought on a whim after winning some money, so I really didn’t know what I was getting.I liked the simplicity of it, 88 weighted keys (8 out 10 star rating, as they’re inexpensive).Compared to “actual” weighted keys, per say on a Roland or Korg where the keys are actually weighted, rather than being more “software,” they’re ok - satisfactory.

So far, so good. WORKS WITH SYNTHESIA. My selling point
I will update after more use. I have had this 88 key smart keyboard for 2 days. I bought this knowing that the free songs were limited in the free app. I also bought this not knowing if it would work with the popular synthesia app because noone ever answered when I posted the question. Yes, It DOES work with synthesia. Now, I can download any MIDI file on my PC and it will light the keys to teach me to play it. I haven't even tried the free app because I personally don't have a tablet. But, I have small studio I built with a PC and a 50" monitor, which is what I wanted to use. The keyboard on my screen is nearly the size of my keyboard :)The quality of the device is great. Feels heavy and durable. The sound is nice, but not as good as many of the bigger names. However, since I am running through my PC, I can use any sound I have. Unit is a bit pricey for what you get, but, I really wanted the lighting system. Will update after a couple months of use.

I am very disappointed
Firstly, I ordered this piano originally two weeks ago, and it somehow got lost and I ordered a replacement. Upon unboxing, already there was a missing ac adapter no big deal because I have some around the house and these things happen so I wasn't too bothered.I loved the appeal of being able to have my child learn the piano and all the functionings were great. I was so excited to use this piano, after first using the piano there are no buttons other than the on and the power, all the functionality is within the app, again not an issue since we have our ipads/iphone/androids for everything now. But the app does not work with my ipad, when trying to log in it says "data cannot be read because it isn't in the correct format" so renders all the functionality of the piano useless and cannot change the timbres. When logging in from my phone it works but it is missing capabilities as if the app has lost function or has no So if you want a piano that literally does nothing but plays the original piano sound there are much cheaper options than going for this piano. This piano showed so much promise, and functionality if it worked but it did not. I am going to return it.
