Quality built
This motor runs very well, it is a copy of the Yamaha 15. Been running it 3 weeks now and crank up on first pull. It took a month to come in, but it is Worth the wait.

HANGKAI 4 Stroke 6HP 3.75KW = appears to decent quality and runs ok, great value for the price
this review is for the HANGKAI 4 Stroke 6HP 3.75KW 1. you will need to add both engine oil and lower unit gear oil 2. the advertising says "6hp", but the engine is 5hp as per the manual. 3.75kw = 5hp as well. 3. the engine takes 2 or 3 pulls on starter cord to start. 4. if sitting engine down, sit it with the cylinder up, so that engine oil doenst drain into the cylinder, with resulting white smoke on next start 5. it looks like a decent quality small outboard, and hard to beat the $380 price 6. the tiller handle has the throttle control. the max power you can output with the tiller twist control isn't much. if you adjust the throttle max position screw on side of engine you can get a lot more output from the engine. for some reason it was set very low from the factory. im still playing with this and ill get some exact speeds later on with a 10ft inflatable dinghy and update the review -Phil

Great little motor
I have owned this motor for several months. Ive taken it out about a dozen times. No issues first crank every time. Runs 20mph light boat 16/42. Very satisfied

Grease and oil all moving parts, especially the lower unit.
Takes about 2 to 2 1/2 months for delivery, but worth it. Haven't water tested yet but completed 1st 2 hours of break in period, 8 more to go in the water. Then it's on.

Runs great.
Started first pull out of the box. Broke it in as directed. 16.5 mph on an aluminium 14 ft deep V. On my 6th tank of gas and have had no problems. I would and probably will buy this again for another project.

Wrong shaft length
The outboard arrived early but the shaft length was extra long (25"). The item was described as a long shaft which should have been 20" long

18hp outboard hangkai
The outboard arrived much quicker than expected and the motor runs great without any issue. Customer service was great. They got me the MSO so that I can register it. Be sure to fill the foot with gear oil before you take it it on the water as it ships dry(it fills from the bottom to the top. Also follow the break in procedure as you would with any new outboard
