JVL Rug Safe Carpet Gripper for Carpet Floors 60 x 90cm

We use a barrier mat to protect our carpet from the wheels of our home office chair and general wear and tear underneath the desk. However the barrier mat has a life of its own and constantly moves to the left and we are forever moving the chair and readjusting the mat. We recently had a new carpet fitted and this just made things worse. We have tried all kinds of grippers and tapes but none of them worked so as a last resort we thought we would try this 'JVL Rug safe carpet gripper for carpet floors'. We bought the 120 x 180cm so as to cover the whole of the underside of the barrier mat and it was worth every penny. It has been in daily use now for almost a month and the barrier mat has not moved a fraction. So 100% success for us. Brilliant product.

What a waste! I was very confused about how to attach this when I got it, since only one side appeared sticky and was already stuck fast to itself. It was a while before I figured out the other side was a peel away film, this was hard to figure out because it was so hard to get off the film cover! Neither side was sticky enough to stay attached to my carpet whilst I was trying to peel away the film, and I couldn't do it all in one go because it would get stuck to me, itself and every invisible hair in existence! I only got it halfway onto my carpet before I gave up entirely, and it left a horribly sticky mess on my carpet and fingers — even though it didn't stay stuck in place! I don't think it would have secured my carpet well even if I had managed to get this on. Definitely do not get this if you value your carpet or time.

Was very happy and it worked great... until I had to move some stuff around the lounge and that meant lifting the rug. The gripper never worked again to the degree it had before. I reckon 75% less effective once you separate it again from the rug just one time.

Value for money wise, this is a good choice. I have a very fine lightweight rug on a low pile carpet, and this product has gripped well and stopped the movement of the rug almost completely. However, peeling the adhesive backing off the gripper is a two person job for definite- if it sticks to itself during the process it’s a nightmare to undo. Overall this is a good choice for not a big investment. But two pairs of hands are needed to fit it!

Bought this to hold my kids play rug in place and it works wonderfully. It’s down on top of carpet too and the only issue I had was putting it down straight but I have a husband for that! It was easy to cut to size, thin enough that it’s completely unnoticeable (if done right), super grippy and is holding up well still after lots of play time over the last 5 months.

After so many products to stop my rug moving all the time on my carpet l found this carpet gripper and it actually works. Rug stays in place no more adjusting every time someone walks on it.👍

They definitely seen me coming with this one. £15 gone, completely down the drain on this rubbish. I done exactly as instructed, cut it to size (5cm smaller than my rug) peeled off the plastic film and put it sticky side down, with my carpet underneath and my mat on top and it's not stopped it from sliding in any way shape or form. I honestly can't see how it could work. The material offers no resistance whatsoever. It's like gluing a thin cotton bed sheet to your carpet and expecting that to work. WHAT AN UTTER RIP OFF. Amazon shouldn't allow rubbish like this to be sold on here.

Only lasts for about a week don't waste your money sorry I did.
