When you have 2 large dogs in your yard, your grass is never going to look great. But, this gypsum powder/granule brand seems to stave off the worst of the chemical havoc the urine plays within the soil.Pet urine contains ammonia, which natural soil bacteria can eliminate pretty efficiently, but the resulting pH is low (acidic). If you use an aerator to punch holes into the soil then treat with gypsum, the pH returns to normal and grass seeds will happily re-sprout. It also helps break up the heavy local clay soil which is inhospitable to new seedlings.

My wife is obsessed with clearing the pond of silt and floating debris. We dumped in the pearls in spots around the center of the pond but it made no difference. The product came in a strong clear plastic bag with no holes and came back out of the bag with no hassles.

Works pretty well to help loosen hard soil and clay. I worked it in around my plants so the water would soak in and not just roll off. Plants are coming up great and getting the moisture needed in this desert climate.

I use gypsum to soften up the soil in my yard. I throw it in every other year or so. I could not find the Gypsum locally in the 25 lb bag. great price and delivered on time as scheduled. Thanks again Amazon.

This works great! I will be buying more next year...I live in Wyoming where we have tons of flash floods whenever it rains and the soil is very clay and cracked. Ater creating flower beds and adding topsoil, 6 inches down in is hard clay that you cannot dig through without a pick! I have tried amending my soil with mulch, top soil, clay buster, compost - none worked and every year I had compacted hard soil again!I amended my flower beds with these gypsum pearls and I have noticed a difference within 2 weeks. The water actually soaks in the soil now instead of draining off. I don't get the eroded trenches through the soil each time it rains. Next year I'm buying enough for the lawn and can't wait to see the difference!

Product did not perform as advertised. Also overpriced. Would not order again. Try your local store for a better price and product.

I tilled half a bag into my newly tilled up 12x12 garden bed, along with a bag of manure. This ground was clay and would barely grow grass or weeds. My pepper plants are 4' tall, and the tomato plants are twice as high as the baskets, and are keeping growing up the wire fence surrounding the garden. Cucumbers are already up to the top of the fence, and growing down the other side, as well as crawling across the ground. This product, along with moderate watering, has given me the best garden I have ever had before, in the worst soil I have ever attempted a garden in.This is a must have for anyone with hard clay soil.

We had a very, very harsh winter with salt trucks coming down all the time. The edges of my lawn go right to the street....no sidewalk. The grass is difficult to keep at its best at those edges.This year as part of my spring fertilizing I tried this having heard someone recommend it. I had my doubts. But the grass when it came to perking up was excellent, better than other years. I will be using this product again next spring.Excellent results with little effort.
