You can make brandied cherries yourself from any cherry; recipes abound on the internet. The gold standard of brandied cherries, however, is Griottines. They are somewhat costly, but worth it. They are best in texture and flavor. If you make your own, you will be relatively disappointed unless you use the small and more sour Marasca or Morello cherries, and those aren't your average grocery store items. I've made a lot of brandied cherries before, but I cannot top Griottines, so I buy them. Again, they are worth what you pay.

Took a chance and ordered these rather pricey brandied cherries and now I can't go back. They really are worth the price. The flavor is excellent, nothing like the cloying candy taste of maraschino cherries. These are wild Morello cherries soaked in liquor and Kirsch. The jar is filled with dozens of these small cherries..... not mostly liquid as with a few others brands I've tried. The only downside is the jar is challenging to open and requires a strong pair of hands or in my case, a neighbor to help. I'm getting ready to order my second jar!

There are no better cherries than these on this planet. Over ice cream or in a Manhattan, these are gourmet cherries.

WOW!!! These are superb! I ordered 3 different cherries after reading reviews--these are by far the best!! Very pricey, but worth it! These are worthy of a Manhattan :) And the jar was filled to the top with delicious, perfect cherries in a wonderful syrup :) THESE are cocktail cherries!!

We’ve been buying these for now many years after first finding them in Paris. We use them in Manhattans. They are much tastier and subtle than the maraschino things you see all over. Highly recommended indulgence. Also price has stayed fairly constant. Better to buy 3 or more at once.We’ve bought from this seller many times. Their service is excellent.

These are definitely high quality and made a great gift, but everyone who's tried them simply prefers the taste of Luxardo cherries to brandied cherries.

By far the best cherries you can buy for drinks for desserts etc. etc. These are the best...

Love, love, love these cherries! They’re the perfect garnish in an old fashioned. And a little splash of the liqueur they’re bottled in adds a nice sweetness. They’re a little expensive but we’ll worth the money!
