ESP Guardcam WF-M CCTV & Security LED Floodlight With Monitor & PIR

Unit works well for me. the only problem is that the recorded video is on an unusual file type and I have not been able yet to find a video editing programme that would enable me to capture the recording in movie or in still picture. The playback on the monitor is rather jerky but I guess that is the compression mode for the recording.

The versions of Guardcam that do not have a remote RF monitor are not worth buying as the setup, up a ladder, is almost impossible. But the version with a handheld remote, battery operated, monitor is much easier to manage. The concept idea of this device is first class but the implementation is very poor. My assessment is that it was designed about six to seven years ago and has the technology of 15 years ago. Why a 2019 version is not being made is a puzzle. A very serious negative is the camera. I could not find any real technical specification and I expect the reason for this is that the sellers know it has a video camera that was obsolete fifteen years, so do not want to draw attention to this aspect. I measured the resolution as being 640 X 480 ( extremely low and bad resolution) at a rate of 15 images per second- the reason for the jerky images. Today ( 2019 ) companies like GoPro, and a hundred others I know consider that a resolution of 1920 X 1080 at 30 images per second, is the rock bottom, almost obsolete, But here we are in 2019 still using the crap of 2000. The concept is excellent but the electronic technical knowhow almost rank amateur. I am a retired video camera R&D Engineer and if the bunch who designed the electronic section of this device worked for me I would fire the lot. The floodlight should not be LED's as they will fail after about six months or sooner. A replaceable powerful bulb floodlight should be used. What a winner this device could be if a smart Chinese company copied the concept but used 2019 technology.

OK, reasonable value for money, buy play back is very very jerky, good as a deterrent

This camera was really easy to set up. I'm not the best with techy things but found this straightforward. Had to ring the support line to sort out how to view image full screen. This was really easy to sort and the team were very helpful. Image is amazingly clear! The only thing we would mention is that the bracket back plate that you fit to the wall is alittle flimsy, but once up its ok. Really glad we bought it, worth every penny.

Good product very pleased with it, it is very clear picture on the camera night/day and light has a good range, will buy a second one for the front of house
