Wild Delight 3 Pack of Sizzle N Heat Spicy Suet for Birds, 11.75 Ounces Each

This is the only product I've found that the squirrels won't touch, but the birds love it. (Central Virginia)

It seems to go quickly but is a god send given that the squirrels eat a LOT of sunflower seeds. I had tried hot pepper in the seeds but not flakes, will do that as I have to fill that every couple of days. It is much more expensive than the seed but I like the woodpeckers and so does my cat; it's part of her entertainment each day!

the birds do like it; however, they are getting into it like they do the HOT birdfood.

I used this to keep squirrels away from my bird feeders but I was disappointed that it didn't have seeds in it that birds like.

Red squirrels and grey squirrels won't eat this suet.

I have gone through 6 cakes during the past two months Jan-Feb here in the Northeast. Squirrels will visit, munch for a couple minutes, especially when a fresh cake is put out there, but they quickly jump off as they seem to find some red pepper. Overall, the birds like it: cardinals, woodpeckers, sparrows, juncos, starlings, titmouse, nuthatch, chickadees. I suspect that they will always visit, but not stay very long. I have also added red pepper flakes to my seed feeder contents, and I get the same reactions. The cakes are pricier than the un-peppered cakes, but worth it when you consider how much the squirrels consume of the un-peppered cakes.
