Smells really good, it's a warm sweet scent.

I think this perfume is literally the cutest thing ever! I'm absolutely in love with it, and I thought the perfume would've been a bit sweeter, but with a spray after a while, I do smell the strawberry and it's such a warm smell! Definitely a unique scent!

I’ve discovered the brand thru my partner that god the book of samples gifted to him. I was immediately draw to this scent. It reminds me of the pacific north west woods. It’s my ultimate favorite scent. Every time I use it I get compliments on the uniqueness.

I love the smell itself of Cape Heartache. But that's not the problem. I love Imaginary Authors in theory. The story behind each fragrance and the intriguingly offbeat combination of notes is right up my alley. But they are selling fragrances that perform like EDTs **at best** (really they perform like a $5 body spash from Target if I'm being blunt) for the cost of an actual EDP. I bought their full storybook off their website because I was so excited to try all of them. Not a single one has lasted longer than hour, and even then only as a skin scent. Of the selection, Cape is beautiful but has no projection, longevity or sillage. The most I would ever pay for this is $30 because of the lack of performance. Put your money into a similar fragrance profile from a brand that makes EDPs that actually perform like EDPs. As it is, I have 30 of their fragrances now that are only good for spritzing at home to uplift my mood for the short time I can actually smell them.

I fell in love with this perfume the first time I encountered it (at a local goods shop in Portland OR) and I could NOT stop thinking about it for months afterwards. I never buy high priced perfumes but this one is worth the money. It lasts all day and I have people tell me all the time how good I smell. The scent actually puts me in a better mood and makes me feel more confident. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

It is very hard for me to find a scent that fits and I have been on a sample gathering mission for about 8 months. My journey has finally ended. Though I am embarrassed to admit I can't afford this bottle, (struggling artist) I will cherish my sample to the last drop. Never has a scent captured everything I wanted and needed like cape heartache 💔 I spend a lot of time in used book stored as I make purses, clocks, and lamps from books and this places me in my favorite book store everytime I wear it. IN THE BEST WAY. It's unique, bold, yet doesn't slap you in the face as a perfume. I also care for my aging mother with COPD and this scent doesn't bother her like many do, so I can actually wear it anytime rather than just when I leave the house. I've never been so impressed with a perfume before. The notes are irresistible and the longevity is makes cape heartache 💔 the perfect match for me

Has a sharp piney woody base note, with a hint of oak moss at the mid level. The softer top notes are of vanilla and maybe some strawberry but it is still what I would call a very masculine scent. I like it because it starts strong and softens over time but still hangs on. The longevity on two sprays is at least eight hours. Lots of compliments on this one, it is a very, very unique scent and may not be for everyone. paired with the Cape Heartache soap it really is awesome. The price is higher than most but it will last forever.

I've never had a cologne that just needed a couple of sprays. This stuff is incredibly potent compared to regular department store (Sephora, Macy's) cologne's I've used. I went to a store in Portland while visiting and smelled the entire lineup. This one was by far and away the winner. Its packaged very well and I really do not think you will go wrong.
