Cheap and easy gardening!
This is a straight forward manual on how to maximize your garden's potential without pesticides or store bought fertilizers. Additionally, there are many factoids on the "old fashioned" methods of gardening that were learned by trial and error over the history of humans. It's a great source for "use what you have" gardening. For some things, like insect control, there can be more than one or two solutions depending on your area and what you're growing.A handy guide for the beginner or intermediate gardener.~Kendra Wesner, MLIS / Michigan

So much information!!
I have zero green thumb - this book puts things in perspective for me - I've had more than one a-ha gardening moment when referring to this book. The nice part is that it's great to have on hand for ready reference & very easy to find answers to questions.

covers all points of the process.....
I was very pleased with this book. Id done some research with other gardening books for a few months. but ultimately i chose this one. It gave step by step directions, covered all aspects of getting your garden started from beginning to end. And even explained the technical dynamics of healthy soil, how to achieve healthy soil, and composting! so, as a hands-on learner myself...i wont be letting this book go for years to come.

Wonderful Book for the Beginning Organic Gardener
Organic Gardening for Dummies is a wonderful book for those new to organic gardening. The section on common pests and non-toxic means of eradication saved my kale. Of course the book is easy to read and has many interesting little known facts about all-things-gardening.

Easy read for a beginner
For someone who is just starting out with organic gardening, this is a great book. I've done a little gardening here and there but never to the extent I am now planning. This book has tons of helpful hints and tips. I'm looking forward to getting started this year and finally feel that I have the tools and knowledge to do it.

Gift for Brother
My brother recently started organic gardening and a hot house and this was truthfully more of a gag gift than anything else, as I find my city boy brother trying to be farmer john hilarious. However, he mentioned that the book has come in very handy and has used it often. It had lot of info on soil and plant growth on the chemical nutrient level that he was really interested in.
