Cheap, works and makes life easier
Like most of us I struggled for years using pliers to remove spring band clamps. Faced with a job on a VW with large clamps on the intake I'd had enough and ordered this tool. First, it does the job far better than any pair of normal pliers. It has a ratchet lock that will hold the clamp compressed which can make it a one-handed affair. The functional ends that grip the clamp seem decent quality and it should last for the home mechanic. Minor criticisms are the ratchet release is a bit clumsy to use and the handles remind you that it is no Snap-On or Craftsman piece. The price point is fair. I don't know why I waited so long to get these.

Nice tool for the money
Earlier this week I was replacing a lower radiator hose on my 2002 Silverado. I caught hell putting that hose back on using a pair of pliers I had in my tool box. So the next day I went ahead and purchased this Clamp Tool. I looks like nice tool for the money, I hope it will be a lot easier next time I have to change a radiator hose.

No more struggling with pliers!
Makes it easy to work with the band clamps used on most cars now, beats fighting pliers to get the clamps in place. The adjustable tips make it work from any angle which is great inside cramped spaces. The lock can be tricky to work with and a spring loaded pair with a lock would be better, but for the price these are great.

Worked great, and makes releasing these clamps safe by providing a secure grab points and by a spring loaded auto locking mechanism. I used to use chanel locks or pliers to undo these hoses, it was always pain in the neck and never felt safe. I wished I bought one of these 30 years ago! Worth every penny.

Gets the job done
It can be a little squirrelly at times but, it definitely is worth some of the fidgeting.

Great tool for hose clamps
I am a auto tech and always hassled with these darn spring type hose clamps. This tool enables me to lock the clamp open and pull them back with continuously slipping off the clamp. These pliers save me time , money and aggravation.
