Are you a lover of meat stew with peas? Well, we offer you an alternative to it with the advantage of having a higher protein and fibre content, without cholesterol and GMOs and above all natural and cruelty-free! The wheat muscle can be used as a protein source with no cholesterol input, thus as an alternative to legumes (which, however, probably have a lower protein input), soybean steaks, seitan and tofu. If you like the taste and you overcome the initial mistrust and the difficulty of psychological impact (it is not easy to get used to the colour and the juxtaposition with meat makes you expect a more pronounced taste), it can be useful to diversify the sources of protein of vegetable origin. However, it is not equivalent to meat, as not all the essential amino acids are present, which is characteristic of complete proteins in the animal world. Wheat muscle is therefore not an alternative to meat, but it can be interesting because in a varied and balanced diet it can be useful to vary the protein sources. In case of need to reduce cholesterol intake in food, wheat muscle, such as seitan, soybean and derivatives, is a possibility to achieve a significant share of protein in the diet, at least quantitatively if not qualitatively.
