I bought these for doors. Please be advised that screws may not be long enough if framing around door doesnt have solid backing. Advise putting lock portion on frame & use atleast 1 longer screw behind provided caps/plugs, while using only 1 of tamper proof screws, particularly if child is older & strong like mine!

These are of great quality, purchased more so for security than safety, wanted my elderly mother to be able to have fresh air but to prevent any undesirable from climbing in window, allows about 10cm opening but that depends on where you situate the cable part and the lock bit. Security screws allow you to screw it in but be warned you carnt unscrew it then, so make sure it's where you want it to be. Seems if you want to it removed once on, you'll have to drill the screws out. Suppose to prevent a child to be able to remove it. Anyway there worth the extra few pounds compared to the cheaper ones you might be considering.

absolutely brilliant, we needed this because we are in a bungalow and did not dare to keep our bedroom window open through the night. Well, now, our window is open all night every night. Feelin very safe .

I really like this window lock. Live in bungalow so wanted security to allow me to have my window open of a night. Very strong. Plastic covered wire. Easy to install. Locking mechanism very easy too.

This is definitely if not the best window Restrictor available on Amazon, bought for someone who has a downstairs bedroom so was worried before someone could get in.Not worried now this is a good looking fine secure mechanism thank you Cardea!!!!!!!!
