Buyer Beware!
This is the worst wine making tool I have ever bought. Really difficult to assemble and very unsturdy. You can see by my pic the residue that the rusting screws & nuts have left on the cleaning strips before I even used it. Also, when I was trying to put the strips on. They are bigger than the nut which results in them falling off. Totally useless, overpriced and I will be returning this product immediately.

Does the job. Lots of small parts. Sharp edges. Replacement pads not easy to find.
This was a difficult product to review. On one hand, it seemed like a great idea to quickly remove tough deposits from the inner surfaces of vessels like glass carboys or stainless-steel kegs. However, the product looked to be grossly over-engineered and had a lot of small parts that could get easily lost rendering the product useless. There are multiple holes in the shaft which I feel could weaken it and allow it to bend or break although this hasn’t to me so far. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are sharp edges to the set screws so care has to be taken in handling this device. In use, this cleaner seemed to do a good job. Initially the foam pads were rather stiff and difficult to push through the mouth of a standard glass carboy. After being soaked, they softened up and could be easily inserted. The pads could be fitted at three locations along the shaft to accommodate most vessel sizes. A fairly powerful drill is needed – I used a Craftsman 19.2V portable drill on the low-speed setting and that worked well. A firm hand is needed on the drill during cleaning to stop the shaft from vibrating and banging around inside the carboy and causing possible damage. This product works well. I think the design could be a little simpler (and more robust). It is being offered a fairly premium price (over twice that of a simple brush) but it does do a better job. I assume that the cleaning pads are going to wear out during use and will need eventual replacements. I could not find any replacement pads listed for this product on Amazon. However, KegWorks offers a very similar product and it looks like their replacement pads should fit this product.

Gamechanging innovation!
After years of struggling to clean carboys for mead making, this tool has changed my life. Not only does it save time and energy, but it also has eliminated any worry over contamination. Works just as advertised and was simple to assemble. Worth every penny of the very reasonable price. Looks like I’ll be making a lot more mead in the near future.

The thin drive shaft (rod B) failed on first use
The concept is good, the thin (1/4 inch) drive shaft (rod B) sheared at the top most pad attaching hole. All three rods should be the same diameter as the Rod A. Also a piece of plastic tubing should be included to cover the protruding Kimi screw on rod B. When cleaning the bottom of a plastic carboy, the top Kimi screw contacts the neck of the carboy and scratches the plastic. The pads also tend to ball up at higher drill speeds. I never could get the wine stain off the side of the carboy.

It works
I have tried a number of different system to clean glass carboys This is the first time the carboy was crystal clear. It took a layer of aged film off it. The carboys I use were purchased in the early seventies. By the way it did it less then two minutes.
