Magnet fishing - realistic opinion.
I bought this for magnet fishing. I use this and Paracord 550. I wanted something streamlined. Pros: about the size of a baseball in your hand. You can use a small line if Paracord to pull it. You can throw it further. Doesn't sound like a boulder hitting the water. Cons: when they say something can lift 100lbs (or whatever) that means it can drag that weight up into the air. I have found that things wrapped in weeds/branches or stuck in muck need a LOT of force to dislodge. I pulled a chunk of metal out that weighed 25 pounds on land but getting it unstuck took a lot of work. The magnet felt like it broke free easily. I ended up attaching it and lightly pulling/yanking back and forth. I saw bubbles so I know I was slowly dislodging it. Took about 20 min though. So you might be thinking: "I don't see myself needing to drag up a huge heavy item like a bicycle". Problem I found is you don't KNOW it's a bike. You only know you have found something big and your imagination runs wild "it's a lockbox full of gold!" Lol. So in summary if you are just tossing it off the dock it's fun. If you want to pull anything big and unknown you will need something bigger. My fear was a 500lb magnet would get locked into a pipe and I would lose it (or break the Paracord). I didn't realize a full grown man pulling on a rope can exert the force to break it free reasonably easily. This one I can break free with one hand wrapped around the rope, still it's fun though. I have found that if i drag it behind my boat it will make a loud sound when i have caught something. the magnet wont let go when bringing it up ether. i am realy enjoying using it.. i will recommend it to anyone who has the need to explore finding lost under water treasures.and I found it on Amazon. Seems Like a Good Deal
I use it for magnet fishing. I use a thin paracord rated at 100 lbs. It isn't heavy. It's easy to toss. I only used it once, and that was on a lake shore with lots of rocks. It didn't get snagged, but I didn't "catch" much either. I hauled in a hook and leader, and a nail. That's all for about 30 minutes of goofing around.

Awesome for magnet fishing!!
This is a great option for magnet fishing, it's strong enough to pick up fairly large objects, but not so strong that you can't pull it off if it gets stuck on something too big to lift.
