Don't give away the ending !
Yes, it's that type of film. I've seen it on TV a couple of times, but had an urge to see it again, so I rented it, for just one more time !

Used to be a 5 star
Definitely been some editing done since I originally watched this film years ago - and it no longer has quite the impact that it did. Still a fascinating story, still great acting from Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment - but scenes cut that really shouldn't have been. If you've not seen it worth watching but it'll be a shame you won't see it at its best.

Chilling thriller
It’s many years since I first saw this film and I’ve seen it a coup,e of times since. The sign of a great film is that it’s one you want to watch more than once and don’t tire of it. Surprisingly, Sixth Sense has aged well and still stands the test of time. It’s a well plotted story with spectacular twist I didn’t see coming. Even knowing that, it’s still enjoyable and Bruce Willis is well cast as the anguished doctor. The collectors edition two disc set is packed with extras including storyboard, interviews, behind the scenes and deleted scenes and really adds to the enjoyment.

Once seen can't be unseen
The sixth sense has a child centred theme. Malcolm is an eminent child psychologist who is awarded an accolade for his work. However just as his life seems to be happy, tragedy strikes. We then fast forward a year and Malcolm is introduced to Cole. Cole is 9 years old and like a spooky Little Man Tate. He is disturbed and suffering from anxiety and discloses a secret to Malcolm with has repercussions for everyone. He tells Malcolm he is afraid as "I see dead people". Malcom was initially skeptical as he has problems of his own and fears he and his wife has become distant and Cole advises him to talk to her whilst sleeping and that way she'll have to listen. Cole encounters more undead souls and as advised by Malcolm, talks to them. They are using Cole as conduit to bring closure to their earthly existence and Cole is able to calmly get on with his life. This culminates in his confidence growing as he takes the lead role in the school play upsurping the bully who targeted him. Malcolm is there to watch the recital and bolsters Cole as his mother is unable to attend. She has her own issues as a single parent but is always there for Cole and champions him. She collects him after the play and apologies as she was caught in a traffic jam. Cole tells her that the traffic jam is due to a fatal collision and his mother asks how he knows this. Cole replies that the victim is standing by the car window. His mother is appalled and Cole reveals an incident which happened on the night of his mothers dance recital. She had fallen out with her mother and thought she hadn't seen her. Unbeknownst to her, her mother did watch her. Cole relates the incident as told to him by his dead grandmother and lays to rest a long held grievance. His mother breaks down and hugs him. Malcolm meanwhile has an odyssey of his own to uncover and the final twist in the film is compelling. A must see psychological thriller.
