About a year ago I was hanging out with one of my friends, and we were talking about beauty products, hair care, and skin care. At one point, I expressed how I was so sick of my skin and just had no clue how to manage it anymore. I have combination skin and coin eczema, and every time I had a flare up, I would end up making my skin break out, dry up worse, or both! To make matters worse, I work in manufacturing, so I am exposed to extra oils and dirt on a daily basis, making my oily spots and acne worse. But then since it was winter at the time, my dry spots were even dryer. Thankfully my friend is a rockstar when it comes to all things skin care! She introduced me to double cleansing and recommended this brand and like of products. I chose this particular “revitalizing” version to hopefully help with the excessive oiliness I had been battling. There are different kinds, so I would definitely recommend looking into which one suits your needs! If you can’t pick, go with the OG pink cleansing balm My friend guided me with a simple routine. I used the cleansing balm as my first step. After letting it melt into the skin and then rinsing it off, I used the CeraVe cream-to-foam hydrating cleanser. I would then use the CeraVe moisturizing cream. Yes, the thick one! On oily skin? Yup! Not going to lie, it was AWFUL for about the first week. I could tell my dry areas and eczema spots were recovering, but my skin felt SOOO oily. By the second or third week, my skin was already evening out and my many breakouts were clearing up completely. Honestly from then til summer started, when the weather changed(i.e., I had to start switching up products), I had the best skin of my life. I don’t think I really had any more breakouts besides a pimple here or there, usually just hormonal acne, which I would treat with a little hydrocolloid patch. So to anyone reading this, especially if you have similar skin, do yourself a favor: 1) double cleanse and 2) restore your moisture barrier! It’s a weird transition at first, but your skin will thank you! :)

I have tried so many of these types of products and this is the only one that I actually bought a 2nd time after I ran out. It is a silky cream/oil all in one that glides on easily w/o feeling like you are just oily. I leave it on a bit while I do something else like brush my teeth and my make up melts off. I use a baby wipe and then do the actual cleanse w/my face wash. works great. even gets off the stubborn mascara w/fibers

I originally tried this in Korea and it became an instant must have in my cabinet. I was so thrilled to see it is available on Amazon! This is the BEST makeup remover I've ever used. It melts it all off effortlessly and makes my skin feel so soft! I have oily, acne prone skin. I was told at the Banila store in Seoul that the green is best for oily skin- and it has worked like a charm. No breakouts, only clean and soft skin! Can't recommend enough!

I have used 3 of the different types of Banilla Zero Oil Cleansing Balms, the pink, yellow and purple one. All performed about the same from what I remember. I use as a first step in double cleanse at night. I have combo, sensitive and acne prone skin and never had an issue with product. Great price as well as most oil cleansers/balms are in higher price points especially if you want clean beauty brand. Product removes makeup effectively, non irritating, no synthetic fragrance, clean ingredients, doesn't strip skin barrier and no residue left behind. Did give me terrible cloudy eye and I wear contacts, so I had to really make sure I rinsed well after doing my eyes. I have since switched to an oil pre cleanser which I like a little better as it doesn't need to emulsify in water and sometimes better option for less oily skin types, but always have this in mind as one of my go to brands for oil balm.

Love how my skin has felt since I’ve switched to this cleanser! I was using MacRene actives which costs about $100 per bottle. I justified the price because I thought it was good for my skin... but my skin was pretty dehydrated and dry. I use several serums among other things and moisturize day and night but I needed a cleanser that was gentle and didn’t strip my skin so much... this is it!!! It doesn’t get all of my mascara off but neither did the macrene actives! I love this zero cleanser... FYI I’m 48 and have the start of fine lines and wrinkles... and sagging... especially around my eyes. but I still breakout too. Go figure...
