No more dehydrated plants because I missed a day of watering !
I love these! How many plants would still be alive if I had just ordered these sooner. Three days after burying them the plants are thriving and the bottle still has water in itWhy did you pick this product vs others?:I actually bought several different brands to compare and thought for the size to cost ratio I like these best.

Works pretty good
A clay pot. Seems good quality. It's working good it drains out pretty fast though. Might give you a day or two of water on its own especially if it's hot. I didn't get it for water retention longevity more so to provide stable moisture to the root zone for tomatoes. It's working good for that tomatoes are very happy!

Keeps moist for 1-2ft
I bought this as a start into my garden experiment. I am new and have only started but it dose a great job keeping the ground simi moist. The effect seems to only be a 1-2 feet away from the jug. For the potatoes I have in a large plastic container it proved to be too much water but that's my fault. It runs empty after about 4-5 days in FL being berried up to the neck in potting soil.

Steady watering for container plants.
These are great for growing vegetables in larger containers. They do a good job of keeping soil moist without overwatering (as long as you refill, of course.) Nutrients don't wash out of the potting mix as quickly and I've had fewer issues with blossom end rot on tomatoes.

Not convinced yet
I’m not quite sure what to think of these ollas yet. I’ve been using them now for a few weeks. Despite almost daily rain and mild 70-80 degree temperatures, I’ve had to refill the ollas daily.Curious to see what happens when the rain slows down. I live in the northeast and the hot weather is just kicking in.I’m not sure I believe the reviews that claim the water lasts a week in the desert heat. It just doesn’t seem possible with these small vessels and the results I’m seeing in much cooler and water conditions.

Less frequent watering
These are perfect for my raised bed patio gardens that tend to dry out quickly in the summertime- instead of installing sprinkler lines, just bury these things and they water efficiently for up to a week. I have 3ft wide x 6ft L beds and planted three of these in each.

Good for plant roots. Helpful to mitigate hydrophobic planters.
Bought this large one for a 20gallon tomato pot (with herbs on the surface). Have several other smaller ones as well. I’m happy with this guy. It drains within a day or two in severe dry heat. But it helps keep the tomato roots healthy even when I’m not monitoring the pot soil daily. My favorite use is to get water into the fully dried soil deep within the planters when I’m looking to recharge potting soil that’s turned hydrophobic. A few fills of this and the deeper soil can be turned over and help the whole pot avoid runoff with new watering.
