I dissected the speedo for science - Works/Looks great for 16 bucks
I dissected this speedo to make sure the wires are all correct for the convenience of my fellow bike buildersNeutral light = Green + Black#1 (Ground wire shared w/Highbeam light)HighBeam = Blue + Black#1 (Ground wire shared w/neutral light)Signals = Yellow + Yellow + Black#2 - Both signals share the same ground wireSpeedo Blacklight = Red + Black#3 Blacklight has its own ground wire.3 Black wires2 Yellow1 Red1 Blue1 GreenI originally didnt know they shared ground wires so i spliced off a 4th ground wire to make it work, you DO NOT need to splice anything, speedo works perfectly out of the box its just a really shitty diagram in broken english.Good luck with your builds

Please look at this review.
Okay. There are a lot of mixed reviews out there. Do your research. If you can't solder, diagnose wires, or read diagrams you should not buy this. This is not for the light hearted. This is not a "clip in" magical gauge. It's a cheap Chinese invention. If you are looking at this product you are probably on a small budget and want something that will get you by. If you do it right, it will. Took me a while, but I eventually figured it out. I will be making a YouTube video on everything about this gauge (Mr. Motor Dude-YouTube.com). I did have to make a custom bracket for it to fit my 1983 Honda Shadow 750. I also had to make a custom bracket for the speedometer. As far as the instructions go: don't go by color. The colors are all off. Go by the position of the wires and where those coordinate with the diagram. As far as programming goes. It will not tell you. It's too complicated for me to explain in this review but I will cover it in my instructional video (Mr. Motor Dude). I give it 4 stars because I have yet to test the tachometer and the fuel gauge thing is a pain in the butt. I would recommend this.

Nice Tach if you are VERY HANDY and can wire things.
I bought this knowing it would take some trial and error, but this has been even more challenging that that. Absolutely no instructions supplied, otherwise I might have gone to 4 stars. Lucky, other vendors sell the exact same part, so I was able to glean some help on those listings.I got it to power up, but took some time to figure out all the lights. The diagram I got is pretty accurate on the positions of the different wires in each connector, but the colors may or may not be right. Probably about 50 percent good. Took some hair pulling and some online forum help to figure out where to grab a tach signal. No, you can't wrap a wire around a spark plug lead, but as it turns out, you can tap into the ground wire of one of the coils and that will give you a usable signal. This is on a 2cyl Kawasaki 500.What I didn't realize is that to get the N to light up for neutral, you don't apply 12v+ to the input, you ground it out like all the rest of the gear inputs (1-6). To get it to light up with my N light, I may have to wire in a relay so that grounds out the terminal. Live and learn.I tested the speedo sensor out using one of the magnets in one hand and waving it in front of the hall effect sensor and got the speedo to show some numbers. I'll still have to figure out a mount and probably epoxy one of the magnets onto the front disc where it wont interfere with the brake pads or caliper. I still have to measure the wheel diameter and set that parameter.I still haven't been able to get into the setup menu to the point where I can change parameters. I would love some type of setup instructions better than "Hold the button down and turn the ignition on and keep pressing.... If I don't get that figured out, this may go back and I'll drop the number of starts accordingly.

Not worth the time and headache.
I was playing around with the idea of ordering this for a while then finally pulled the trigger, wish I hadn't. The item arrived in used condition with wire crimps on most of the wires, and pakaged poorly to boot. I never even tried to hook it up as it was obviously a return so I did the same. Very cheap, but that's what I paid for.

Difficult to work with but looks cool. Light is dim and wiring is a pain ...
Difficult to work with but looks cool. Light is dim and wiring is a pain but that's mostly because I don't like wiring.

good luck!
You get what you pay for! No instructions or mounting brackets, you are on your own to fabricate everything and figure out the wiring...good luck!
