I checked reviews on many book stands before ordering the Camino book stand. I don't know what kind of wood this is, but it is pleasing to touch and look at, and the screws should hold...unlike MDF. The design is elegant in simplicity. I bought one for my wife also and we both love it. A very large Bullinger Companion Bible fits perfectly, as do smaller books. The angle is easy to adjust. I use this at home and take it from desk to kitchen table to read. This saves my neck from craning to read pages so reading is a pleasure. The page holders work fine and I like the soft plastic that protects the pages.

I like this stand and use it more that expected. It is wide enough for me to put an iPad on it and a sketch pad next to it so that I can follow along with videos. Even just reading books it feels decadent to read hands free. The kickstand was a little odd until I realized I needed to take it to the end and then adjust back for the height/angle that I want. It's heavy enough to be stable. The shelf will hold a very big book.The wood finish is very smooth. There was no strong varnish smell that so many wood products have when new.

A cheaper stand broke when I put a heavy book on it. (The glue just pulled apart in FOUR places at once.)So i bought this product... Its pretty, light weight, and functional. The clips hold books open in a very helpful way.The stand part in the back is black plastic and a bit cheap looking -- but it works fine, and I'm happy with that.

This is a quality product. It's everything it was described to be. Quality material along with good construction that I would recommend to anyone needing a book holder. I purchased the large size which has been good for reference books & cook books where hands free reading is necessary. The page holders are an added benefit which keeps you place until you desire to advance. It also come in smaller sizes which may be unique to your personal needs.

well, it's not 100% wood, and the plastic assembly is not reliable at all as it was even received broken, it seemed that the packaging was already opened, so maybe this was already returned by someone else and resold. regardless, not reason for plastic assembly, a piece of wood would have been a much better and necessary design.

Suitable only for light books--with heavy ones, it collapses

I wanted this to hold two stacks of papers in front of my monitor to act as an in-line document holder. There are big, clunky plastic ones that cost four times as much as this wooden wonder, but I checked the measurements on the large stand and took the plunge and I am thrilled that I did. As you can see, it holds two stacks of papers perfectly in line with my keyboard and monitor and makes my job about 500 times easier. Beyond the functionality (which is perfect - couldn't ask for anything better!), it's a nice, warm wooden stand that is nice to look at and smooth to touch. When you spend all day in your office, having something pretty to look at instead of the big, ugly, plastic one makes a big difference. Buy it! You won't regret it :)

This product is amazing and is so sturdy. It is able to hold thick and heavy nursing school textbooks with ease. It will also hold big and heavy binders filled to the brim. I should have bought this a long time ago and it's also a great price. You can't beat this great value for something so useful.
