My pan did the same thing. I have the answer to all questions. 42. One more thing, Don't use a spray on cooking oil. Pre heat your pan and then add your cooking oil choice. I pretty much use either olive oil of butter for all my needs.

Q: Is there a Calphalon steamer that mates with the Tri-ply collection: namley the 8 qt pot?

I don't think they have a steamer anymore, however, there are steamers on Amazon that will work with Calphalon. They have a graduated bottom that will fit many sized pans.

Q: I'm assuming these are not stay-cool handles. Does anyone know of any silicone handle covers that fit this pan and lid.

They heat up because they are short and metal. On other tri ply pans the handle is much longer and they do stay cool. For this pan what I do is use tongs to grab the handle to rotate pan and pot holders to lift . I have not found any silicone toppers for it
