For the price, I wasn't expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised by its quality. The surface of the board and chess pieces is very smooth. The locks and hinges are sturdy and hold well. Each piece has a separate storage slot, and the pieces fit securely in the board, making it perfect for taking on the go without worrying about losing them. Another thing the seller has done well is that the bottom of each piece has magnets and is covered with velvet felt, which keeps the pieces stable on the board and ensures that they don't scratch the board as they slide around. This 2-in-1 chess and checkers set is sure to please you.

This set feels solid with a nice wooden finish and the magnetic pieces stay put even if the board gets nudged. Really good size board, and magnets work really well. The pieces inside are held togeather tightly so when turned over and placed they do not fall out. Overall very nice product.

Nice chess set, doubles up for checkers which is great. Looks and feels nice, pieces comfortable size. Great that you can store pieces in the board. Unfortunately, 3 of the black pawns did not stick to the board - I think they didn’t have magnets. That is a shame but it’s still nice set though.
