I take berberine to help with blood sugar regulation, and the fact that this product is dihydroberberine with GlucoVantage, for me, is a game-changer. These capsules are tiny yet packed with dihydroberberine, which is stronger than regular berberine. The capsules are smaller than usual supplement capsules, small enough that I can swallow one without water, which is great when I'm on my way to a restaurant and realize I need to take one before I get there. I try to take one about 20-30 minutes before a meal, but don't always remember, so I keep a few in my bag so I can take one real quick when needed. I am not a doctor or scientist so I can't really explain dihydroberberine or GlucoVantage, but I did some online research that convinced me it is worth a try for blood sugar regulation. The current price of these is so reasonable (just under $10 for 60 capsules) that I have already ordered several more bottles to stock up. In my opinion these are superior to regular berberine but they cost less, which is terrific. And I only need to take one per meal, which means one bottle of 60 capsules will last longer than a bottle of 60 regular berberine capsules.Neither these nor regular berberine have caused me any stomach issues. Regular berberine causes some people stomach issues, but because dihydroberberine doesn't require as large a dose as regular berberine, it is believed to be milder on the stomach. As far as the effectiveness of this Double Wood dihydroberberine, my A1C level is not high enough to require a continuous blood glocose monitor, so I don't know how this dihydroberberine immediately effects my blood sugar after a meal. But my doctor does want me to lower my A1C to get it out of the pre-diabetes zone, so I'm hopeful this product is helping. I have a three-month A1C test coming up soon so I'm hoping for good news at that point.

I do not normally write negative reviews, but I took this twice—as directed. The first time I woke up in the middle of the night very nauseous, took some pepto, and managed to hold it down. I felt ill the entire next day, and that evening, I had a 100’ fever. Once the fever broke, I felt pretty normal, so I assumed that I had actually just been legitimately sick. A few days later, I took the berberine again, and again, I woke up after an hour or two feeling really ill. Well, I knew where this was going and didn’t want to be down and out for 24 hours, so I decided to let it rip. 6 hours of the most violent puking I’ve ever experienced in my 43 years on this planet later, I burst blood vessels in my eye (and all around). 15 days later, I still look like the walking dead. At one point, I thought, “you know, this is so bad, I wouldn’t be surprised if I died,” and resolved to go to the ER if I didn’t turn a corner soon. The vomiting sessions continued but were less severe, so I waited it out. You’ve been warned; this is clearly not manufactured by a reputable lab. I’m contemplating having the pills tested.For reference, I do not have a sensitive stomach, and have NEVER experienced something this horrible. It felt like my stomach was actually twisting inside of me. Unbelievable. Please be careful!
